On the 10th of January, I accepted David Califa's invitation to join iPeace's admin team. A few weeks ago, David asked us admins to participate in the "25 Things About Me" meme so that he could use the texts to introduce the team to the members of the network.

Knowing my skills with the hyperlinked fabric that makes the web, David suggested that I do a multimedia things. So instead of writing a list, I thought of going a little further and expanded each item into a page along with a picture and some links where appropriate. The exercise slowly turned into a waiting-to-happen biography and took way more time than I had originally expected, but it also turned out to be a very rewarding process.

I used to think that maybe I was overdoing things, and feel bad about it. But along the way I redefined doing and got out of the conundrum. Thus, the implied 26th thing could be stated as follows : "I am just not that into underdoing things."

For those who wonder, the complete title of this post "25 Chronological Things About Me, or how to become a curious romantic zensufi techno-geek, herbal-tea-drinking vegetarian artistic footballer, and singular muse-following tarot-reading polymath, in 25-or-so not so easy steps."

Hmmm, ok... here we go...

1. I am not quite sure to which astrological sign I belong.

2. I learned to adapt very early in life.

3. I got punched on the nose more often than I would like to remember.

4. I read the canonical gospels to pass time in grade school.

5. I used to watch a lot of TV as a kid.

6. Football found me in 1980.

7. I bugged my dad so that he would buy a computer.

8. I broke my left arm trying to do reverse jumps from a swing.

9. The universe plotted to have me fall in love with progressive rock.

10. Although we had a piano at home, I never much played it.

11. After completing my B.Sc., I treated myself to a… dictionary.

12. I tore a ligament in my left knee while playing football.

13. I discovered Buddhism thanks to a t-shirt.

14. I underwent corrective surgery that turned into a nightmare.

15. In February 1998, Poligraf had its first rehearsal.

16. I have had a sudden enlightenment experience.

17. I published my first website in 2001.

18. In 2002, Poligraf gave its first ever live performance.

19. I went through a generalized apostasy phase.

20. I left my day job to work full-time on a music distribution service.

21. And all those years I missed out on afternoon tea.

22. I broke my left arm again in 2006.

23. I have seen the future, and loved it.

24. I have stopped eating meat altogether.

25. I would like to focus on music now.

As you must have guessed from the introduction, I wrote more than the required 25 things. Here are those which didn't make the Top 25 list :

26. I was exposed to many genres of music while growing up.

27. For most of my life, I have found the idea of divination tools laug....

28. I once sliced the outer edge of my right thumb with an axe.

29. I own seven pairs of Chucks.

30. I don't know which planet I am from.

31. I was born with a built-in four-leaf clover detector.

32. I like to eat dates dipped in peanut butter.

33. This world is ripe to rise anew.

Thank you all for taking the time to read and leave a comment. Truly appreciated ! :o)

@Ziona : what is it you want to learn exactly ?

@Marc : "over the top it" I like ! Will try to keep that in mind... ;o)

@Mani : as a matter of fact there are 9 ideas left that I have not taken the time to develop... but I'm thinking of going straight for a bio instead of writing more "things"... I want to tell the full story behind Poligraf and all the weird/magical occurences that have happened over the last few years...

@Abelia : my pleasure ! hugging you back... ;o)

@csaporittis@hotmail.com : I think I can safely confirm that ! I also recognize the divinity in you... ;o)

@Nancy : always good, hmmm... well, ok, I have no problem with that ! ;o)

@Julie : thanks, best wishes !

@mary : here's a way : learn the shurangama mantra (the full version), make that wish, recite the mantra, and respond to the requests of the buddhas...

@Stephanie & @susan : the server hosting that blog needs an upgrade I think... I'm working on something and hopefully the problems will be resolved for good soon... in the meantime, just try your luck, others have visited and left comments, so there's no doubt that it works...

@monka : blessings to you too !

Hope you have a great week-end you all ! Apparently pancakes on a Friday the 13th bring luck... ;o)
