1. I love music - all kinds, from the 60s, Middle Eastern, Israeli, western Classical. Just not opera
2. In addition to my academic writing, I write (dark) short stories and sometimes poetry.
3. I am now convinced more than ever that peace and justice are the only ways
4. I have friends 20 years older than me and 20 years younger
5. I LOVE the Negev. After living here for over 35 years, I have come to deeply connect to its beauty
6. I sing everywhere - in the shower, on my walks, working in the garden, grading papers, writing...
7. Every now and then I get artistically creative and make collages or decorate old records (LPs)
8. My best grades in college were in statistics - I am a qualitative researcher who almost never engages in statistical research
9. I believe that people are good at heart and inside - and that if we are good and kind with them, we can discover this
10. If I weren't an academic, I would love to be a film-maker
11. If I didn't have to work, I would travel the world
12. If I were very very rich, I would spend all my time working on peace and justice, while traveling the world and making films
13. I am studying spoken Arabic, not very good at it, but loving it. I studied German for three years and can put together silly sentences.
14. I am addicted to the internet and email
15. I want to make a difference in this world, frustrated that the task gets harder and harder
16. I love to dance, but usually only do at home, when alone
17. My children and husband love me - Thank you God!
18. My mother died almost 19 years ago and there's so much I want to tell her. Does she know...?
19. I'm not a great gardener, but love it. Have some nice successess, but have (unfortunately) done some beautiful plants in... sorry plants
20. I have been a vegetarian for almost 40 years
21. I could watch at least one movie every day (again, if I had the time)
22. I used to bake the best brownies and chocolate chip cookies in the world. Perhaps I still have it in me
23. I want to meet, and hug, President Obama. I want to convince whoever our next Prime Minister will be (in Israel) that s/he MUST end the occupation and make peace with our neighbors. MUST.
24. I think once you reach a certain age, the counting should then go back down, and when you get to one, begin all over again
25. No more war, no more bloodshed...

I have met and hugged President Obama and had a nice chat with him, too! He is all he seems, thank goodness! What is the Negev?

Hi I enjoy gardening too. I took some time off from the vegetable patch last year though.
