25 Random Things About Me - especially for David!

1. Write a "25 random things about me" and post it as a blog.

3. We get to know each other better

We are almost 17000 and we come from 180 different countries and cultures. This can be exciting.

here's mine:

1. I reconnected with my first love 35 years after we met in 1965; we picked up right where we left off.
2. I'm a photo restoration artist who mostly likes to distort/manipulate people in pics into cartoons - just take a look at my albums at Webshots and on Facebook.
3. We have a website, eaglewings-eyrie (dot) com, with our photo restoration, my partner's health notebook, some of my early art and sundry other items - and a little digital art.
4. I lived on Long Island NY until I was 8, and always wanted to live in NY again. I do.
5. I'm an artist.
6. I'm just starting to paint again after a hiatus of about 20 years.
7. I was a decorative artist for almost 40 years.
8. I'm rather good at research and at finding people.
9. I only wear vintage glasses, mostly cats eye, and have been since 1986
10. Recently I had my own 1967-68 vintage faux tortoise HUGE octagonal glasses refurbished. The optician is a miracle worker!
11. If we had the money/won the lottery, we'd have a place in the mountains. Hey, we'll have a place in the mountains anyway!
12. First choice for mountain home is in NY's Adirondacks - in the Adirondack style of course. Vermont is more practical. West Virginia is even more practical.
13. We'd have all kinds of animals no one wants - dogs, cats, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks. You're never too old!
14. I can spin wool.
15. Many people think I'm in my 50s rather than my 60s (someone recently told me even my 40s!!!)
16. Most people think I'm a college graduate. I'm not - rather, self educated in the school of life.
17. We have a pond we made where frogs live in the summer, and deer walk in the winter.
18. I came from the womb a feminist, environmentalist and animal lover.
19. I've been a voracious reader most of my life - not so much time now.
20. I have more books than will fit in the house where I currently live.
21. I still own a house with my husband, where most of my belongings are.
22. The painting I'm working on now has somehow morphed into a political cartoon - think paulewing!
23. I'm so thankful I never picked up a Philadelphia/southern NJ accent!
24. I'm a hippie child of the '60s. I was actually pre-hippie as an old friend recently reminded me; more beatnik.
25. When I was young I wanted to be: 1st, a mermaid; 2nd, a pirate; 3rd, a beatnik. Two out of three isn't bad!
26. I think there will be peace in our lifetimes.
27. I'm also ignoring the 25 questions rule, more fun this way.
28. I have been a tapestry weaver and would like to get into that art form again.
29. I love snow and cold weather - as long as it's just one of four seasons.
30. I've always hated the heat and could do without hot, humid weather.
31. I'm a genealogy nut.
32. I recently learned I'm directly related to my partner's old college fraternity brother. So is my partner, and we're related to each other as well.
33. We're designing a mountain house.
34. "22. You would be a lot of fun at a funeral." - YOU HAVE NO IDEA! LOL
35. I'm editing photos for albums on Webshots.
36. I love photography - grainy b/w film is my favorite.
37. This is the second year deer have spent time in our yard. Last year it was two, a male and female; this year just the female. I named her Bella.
38. I could use a 30 hour day. Make that a 36 hour day!

Oh, Janice, I can relate. I went to Germain School of Photography in NYC, love life in the foothills of the
Berkshires where I llive. we have had deer, raccoon, turkeys, possom, groundhogs, wild turkeys and a black bear hang out in our yard, not to mention chickadees, gold finches, ruby throated hummingbirds, cardinals, quail, and a turkey vulture. You would be happy here, too, I think!! I love your energy and your glasses!
