Biography:

Richard Ozanne Artist, Born 1959 St. Louis Mo, has exhibited across the United States, Europe, Zealand with his painting. Ozannes background is unique to the arts. His family has a legacy that has run through centuries of artists and musicians.

Ozanne began painting at a very early age and began studying writing as well piano in those early years prompted by interests from his family who were all professional musicians, and gave the youth special attention to developing his gifts.

Over the years Ozanne has been nominated for over 100 awards and notices for his art and functions of a world citizen. He received his BFA at the University of Arizona and MFA from Arizona State as well as received four years of extensive study in New York City with some of the best artists of the eras working at the Art Students League and Columbia University.

In 1995 after a successful run of exhibits in New York, Ozanne began to make his residence in Prague Czech Republic for the next 7 years and also attained residence in Italy for another 2 years. This is where his interests in peace began.

During his life Richard Ozanne has traveled around the world 4 times with visits to over 6O countries including being invited to the former Soviet Union for a tour in 1980 at the height of the Afghanistan Crisis, People's Republic of China, Korea..with a special visit and travel across the DMZ line at the UN corridor at Panmunjom. Some of the artist's involvement are to the directions of peace. Ozanne was one of the first foreign artists to visit Autonomous Region of newly opened Tibet in 1985 and visited the domains of High Lama in Lhasa, later meeting the Dalai Lama during his visit to New York City that year. Later he visited soon to be war-torn Kashmir in 1995 during his travels.

During his residence in Czech Republic 1995-2003 he met the first person that announced after the falling of the Eastern-Iron Curtain. wall to the Czech People and was invited as a foreigner to attend symposiums on peace. Through meetings with artists and writers there  grew ventures leading to sign some of the early drafts of the Prague Declaration as well as be involved as a foreign monitor of voting practices in  the now free elections of Czech, involving interests in writing extensively on the subjects of peace during forward travels with his art in Peace oriented art to other countries.

Ozanne has been proactive in signatories for numerous international issues of peace through major and minor organizations, his interests expanding liberty, freedom, as well as ventures to forward the human race through arts as a spokesman.

Richard Ozanne is the prize recipient of the 2003 International Peace Prize, presented to him in Dublin Ireland at the think-tank of the United Cultural Convention (printed for archive in Leading Intellectuals of the World, Library of Congress), during the International Arts and Sciences convention of that year. The notables of that prize nomination include presidents of countries such as Benazir Bhutto of Pakistan, scientific and business leaders such as Kalaf Habtoor, and many others the world over as an American recipient, and forward thinkers of our age.

As an artist, he is a low-keyed explorer in the aspects of peace during our age currently working on art, and writings in this perspective in an age that defies reason, admitting that “This age is one of the most volatile ages of mankind to a myriad of struggles...most captured in the word...suppression”.

“Mankind can either elect the path of liberty... or have selected for him its denial at the hand of man-self determined material forces. The true path of freedom and liberty is an eminent Divine gift, given to us by God (Divine Intelligence-Consciousness)...our Creator. It is our choice...in Prayer.
