Did Apple fail to learn from mistakes made

Even though both Nike and Apple received labor related criticisms and allegations, I feel that Apple situation is not as severe as Nike and has handled the situation better already. And from the look of things, it is unlikely that Apple will suffer major financial setbacks Discount Jordans For Sale.

1. Apple/Foxconn workers are not treated as badly as the workers for Nike.

There has been an article written every other day about how badly treated the workers are in Foxconn, but the truth is manufacture plants in China in general have terrible working conditions. Foxconn probably operates within normal range of the industry standard there KD 7 Shoes - Fast Delivery All Over The World. The workers do get paid at below average wage, but keep in mind that the majority of the workers are rural immigrants with no marketable skills, nor do these workers intend to work there in the long term. Compare that with Nike sweatshops where the employees suffer through similar and possibly worse environmental and personal abuse all the while been paid below living wage.

As the leading tech giant, should Apple set a better example for the rest Nike Shoes Elite Sale? Definitely, which brings up the next point.

2. Tim Cook came out pretty quickly to address the issue, promising more transparencies and further investigations into the deeper issues.

3. Changes take time.

Apple will not move its manufacture plants away from China, that a certainty, nor will they instantly change how Foxconn treats its workers. Similar to Nike, Apple will issue new code of conducts and hire third party audits to examine Foxconn working conditions, then slowly raise the benefits. Even in the best possible outcome, Foxconn working conditions will become "good" by Chinese standards, the workers will still work ~60 hours a week and get paid a measly 3000-4000 yuan a month in cramped spaces.
