Djinn

During the past several months my life has taken many twists and turns, some positive some negative. I am amazed at how much hatred and non understanding has ruined a family that I love dearly. I am talking about a mother and her three children, Kat, Kyla and Djinn Buckingham, a family that has touched my heart in so many special ways.

I hold no animosity towards the people who have ridiculed and written negative things towards the mother (Rainbow) or Djinn, but many of the people writing the negative comments about them have never chose to get to know the family personally or understand a family who chose to be non conformist to many ideals and lifestyles that the mainstream choose for themselves. It seems that whatever people don't understand they say negative things about, and or choose to ridicule, which isn't something people should take part in. What bothers me and hurts deeply is the fact that this family has been seperated by several unfortunate circumstances, many involving statements made by people who didn't know the family personally or only had a skin-deep relationship and chose to make up outlandish tales which blossomed in the media and managed to destroy the family unit.

The hardest thing, which hurts me the most is the fact that during a tragic fire that engulfed their household, a precious family member was killed, and Djinn, a twelve year-old child took the fall for it. He was questioned by police and the fire marshal for several hours without an attorney present, no family or friend there with him when he was questioned, the interrogation session was not taped or recorded by the authorities. After several hours of questioning, Djinn was asked to engage in what he thought was a fantasy line of questioning which he was asked several questions, after which he was arrested for confessing to starting the fire in which his cousin was killed. He didn't understand the reason why he was being handcuffed and being sent to a detention center when he did nothing wrong. Almost immediately he stated that he didn't commit the crime and just wanted to get everyone off his back, which is a normal reaction from a child, and doesn't show guilt. Djinn was a learning disabled child, who was also on several medications, some of which were not for children under 18, which altered his whole being and confused him to the point where he was putty in anyone's hands who tried to question him.

Djinn needs everyone's prayers and support, as he has endured much over the past three years. Personally, I have taken the time to interview several people, secured affidavits, and found muich evidence proving Djinn had nothing to do with this, but was made a scapegoat because he smoked cigarettes openly and took the fall because of that. This case deserves to be back in court and Djinn should be freed from this injustice towards a child.
