The barefoot child lives no longer in my heart
They live in my eyes
As worldwide poverty grows in devatating numbers
1000 + children with barefeet, today dies
10cents on every dollar given disapeers into the night
Barefoot children shutter in spite
The smiles that defeat the camara are non-existent more
The death from desease and ravages of war
Help one child at a time and no one can say more
Do one not nothing if you can justify four
220 years ago my forfathers four score
Toady is the day we need individual effort against torture

Life is what happens as I think about tomorrow
Sometimes I dwell on the moment without enjoying it
Never has life brought itself to such a slow show
Never has time diminished its importance a bit
One last chance to a metamorphosis
One last chance to survive
With time spent becoming well from Illness
With a zest for life that feels so alive
A brass ring is no longer the object of the ride
Just being on the merry go round for five
No loss of enthusiasm just more respect I decide
As the ride slows enough for thought about being alive
Doing for others is the dream of the day
Reflections many I can give away
