Love always changes us

Dear Aaron,
If I had one day left
To tell you what I understand
And know as my truth,
I would say
To love
In the face of everything,
Even when it hurts,
Even when you’re scared
Because love heals all.
I would tell you
To listen more to your experiences
And your feelings
Than what people may tell you.
Or what may be written as the truth.
Although, never disregard free advice—
Act merely as a filter.
Always believe in something,
Anything,
Your Self,
Because your values
Define who you are;
But don’t be too stubborn
To change your truth
When experiences show you
Otherwise.
Try not to dismiss
People so easily.
Search past
What someone may show you
As who they are,
And look deeper inside each person—
Past their clothing, past their social status,
Past their behavior or words,
With the understanding
That we each have our own
Struggles and baggage that
We’re dealing with at any given moment.
That we are all scared sometimes.
Love each soul,
Not only those closest to you.
Take time to go inside
Yourself each day;
You can always find peace there.
This is your deepest, truest Source.
Always try to grow
Into a more compassionate,
Understanding person
Than the day before.
Smile for no reason.
It is that easy to feel good.
You are never alone.
Love. Love. Love.
Make all of your decisions
From love
And you will never regret anything.
There’s enough love in you, Aar,
To light the world,
Even if sometimes
Your love feels lost.
When this happens,
Take all your time and energy
To find it once again,
Because without love you will never survive.
This I promise you, little brother.
When you hurt someone, apologize,
When someone hurts you, forgive.
Don’t forget your love for them in this cold moment,
Especially not now,
When they need to feel
It the most.
Know that you can only be
Or have
What you think that you can.
And always,
Always be true to yourself,
Otherwise, there is no reason to be here.
We are alive to grow,
And share our individual
Beauty and truth.
You will never see a flower
Pretending to be a tree.
We each offer our own truth unto this world.
That is the beauty of Life.
Our individual souls complement to complete each other.
I know you trust me, but
Don’t just assume my words to be true, Aaron,
Absorb what feels honest to you at this time in your life.
