Mistle Finger

Watch his sturdy Mistle Finger poised

to flick the bell and make some noise

his message would soon be sent to call

the many needy girls and boys who all

deserve a treat as much as our very own

and their chance to become fully grown.

For all the world is equal in the eyes

of true justice unmarred by sinful lies

what need is there for us to buy more

junk that fills the many advert boards

while cousins we have not once met

have needs that we do not expect.

This time of year is said to still

bring hopes for peace and goodwill

not just for the ones within our sight

now is our chance to put this right

by spreading all we have and freely share

with those whose needs we can't compare.

Let his Mistle Finger point the way

for us all to stand as one and say

we wish to make the steps that can

join us all with every fellow man

an act that is so long overdue
