There is probably no greater obstacle to peace than the assumption that there are no active and powerful forces resisting it.
For example, the combined cost of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan is $288,000,000 a day.
This amount is somebody's gain. And that gain is not going to be given up easily.
If we do not take this reality into account when deciding on strategy to stop war, no amount of wanting will do it.
