Dearly Beloveds...

Greetings from Santa Barbara California USA, Planet Earth....

It's late afternoon here now, the sun is just going down over the mountain, the sky is a soft blue with fine fingers of white clouds...

Today has been another very creative day. There is a kind of power flowing, something is pushing its way through. I keep coming back to this iPeace site, and all the lovely attractions here. Maybe it's that song, Imagine -- is it being sung in Yiddish? I am just guessing...

You can say I am a dreamer -- but I am not the only one. I am so glad to be in the company of all these lovely dreamers...

*

So, ok, I have some ideas....

I thought maybe I would put some stuff here. I want to put these ideas down in writing, and I want to say these things here, to these dreamers -- to you guys, whoever you are, wherever you are -- all these beautiful girls and wise women and strong men, all these people with heart, all these people feeling the throb, feeling the pulse.

I've been doing these internet projects for a long time. I've had these kinds of visions for a long time. But here everything is new, and there is so much to learn, so much to discover, so many new things. This iPeace is an exciting place. I am learning from it. It's fun, it's inspiring.

Maybe what I am thinking is -- maybe something really exciting could emerge. Of course -- love and connectivity is always exciting. It's exciting to connect with somebody 10,000 miles away, somebody with a heart full of love and caring, somebody I can touch, and who can touch me...

What I am thinking is -- there has to be a powerful way forward.

We know so much. There is so much out there today. So much knowledge, so much insight, so much technical capacity. And there -- is such a wide range of wisdom. Maybe the spirit isn't really all that mysterious now -- at least in some ways. Maybe we can figure out a way -- to "come together" -- even through we are very different -- and the energies can be intense...

This man -- David Califa -- who made this web-place. I watched a video of him yesterday, of him being interviewed on (I guess) Israeli television. That was fun. The interviewers were energetic, they challenged him hard. David smiles, he comes back strong. He can speak out of the spirit. He knows something....

I thought it was interesting that David is in Israel. That's a place -- that can use some new energies for peace.

I've been thinking about how the internet might help do something for mid-east peace -- for a long time. I've got friends across various borders -- who might not like each other very much. And I've met some people from other sides of various borders -- who are totally in love with one another.

There were some Mideast women who came to Santa Barbara a year or two ago -- a group called "Beyond Words". Israeli women, Palestinian women. They were beautiful, they told funny stories, they told sad stories, they loved each other...

At first, I didn't understand the meaning of their name -- "Beyond Words". I thought perhaps it meant -- that they were able to communicate so deeply -- that they didn't need mere language to connect. But no, the beautiful lady explained the name. It means, she said -- that we have felt a pain -- that cannot be spoken. It is too powerful, it is too deep -- it is Beyond Words...

I have some ideas on some things that might happen. I think it would make sense to write some of those ideas here. I don't know if anybody will see what I write here -- but I think I will do it anyway. I'll write another post soon.

Portal to Unity. That's the dream that is pushing in me right now. Many blessings to all you beautiful people. The sky is getting more golden now. See you soon...

So many great comments here, and thanks to everybody. Just -- to Shoshannah, who lives in Jerusalem. I understand. We do have to defend ourselves. There is no doubt of this. But this battle has to stop. So -- what I am suggesting -- is that we need some new ways to think about these things. Maybe that is something we can do here -- explore new ways to solve old problems. Whatever it is -- that makes someone strap a bomb to their waist and kill 27 people and themselves -- we have to reach the energy that is driving them. We have to fix that energy, and we have to transform whatever is giving that energy life. These people -- ARE people -- just like us. They are doing something that we find hateful and utterly abhorrent -- and yes, it must stop. It cannot be allowed to happen. But other people -- just like us -- think they are heroes. I would say -- that we have to move "beyond words" -- and beyond labels and accusations -- into a deep humane understanding -- that can heal this terrible injury -- this injury in a person, this injury in a people, this injury in a nation. It's my feeling -- that this can happen... and maybe here on iPeace we can explore and unfold ways to help unfold these new ways. Thanks for your comment, Shoshannah, I look forward to getting to know you better.

Very encouraging and inspirational thoughts. On your plan to write your ideas that came to you in your communication with the Mideast women, please do. That will help us understand and experience at a deeper level life's journey with them. Thank you.

Hi Bruce and others,
I see a harmony between not saying your words immediately -- "beyond words" has many meanings to me -- including now "pain beyond words". As a dance/movement therapists and art therapist -- I see the picture above me as transcending and embodying some of the pain. One common theme with children or teens is the theme of the volcano -- which is often painted and narrated. Sometimes children who are in great pain --paint me pictures of lava -- red, hot and flowing -- specifically and symbolically into their lives -- but then they bring their little selves into a bigger self and shoots of water cooling the lava as they paint. There is hope in these children and teens, but they still have to keep working -- as their pain needs to shift out of their bodies and their neurology needs to find peace. Jo Ann

Good day Bruce, nice description of how the afternoon looks in Santa Barbara and how the lady from UK speaks of the sprinkles of light in the snow. I am a singer/writer with a group called "4us". There is so much happening all around the world that it make my heartache. Singing and writing helps me to deal with the 'world' and my immediate environment (family, friends, neighborhood). I am thankful for the peace in my own household and I pray for peace worldwide. I can't imagine going through some of what I see and hear. We write about how we'd like things to be; more love, more understanding, and the fulfillment of hopes and dreams and most definitely a better world. Peace,love,happiness............Mery "4US"

PEACE BE TO YOU ALL (ASSALLAMU ALAIKUM).

Thanks, LOVE AND respect to Mr Schuman for the topic.

Here in The Gambia, the time is around 12.30pm, Sunday, things are calm and relax. Children, mostly Muslims and Chirstian brothers and sisters join together in groups from the ages of 7 to 20 or so to celebrate the christmass. They do this group by group, each accompanied an "Agugu", a traditional masquerade in animal form for fun. The "Agugu" wears costumes which could be made up of cattle, sheep or goat skin, and others made up of empty bags of rice, potato and onion and varieties of leaves to cover the footpath as they move around town, and people give alms and enjoy the danceing of the "Agugu" which bears two cow horn on his head making children and even some older people to fear them and run away when they are chased. Its lot of fun in the culture of the sixth ethnic group, the "Aku" tribe, one of the Indigenous Christian Community in The Gambia. They speak what is funly call 'Broken English'.

Christian brothers, sisters, moms and daddies are busy in the Churches calling on the name of the Father, the Son and the Holly Spirit, serving the Lord and praying for common good. As the case in many parts of the world, Muslims here share the same joy with their Christian brothers and sisters to remember Jesus, refered in the Quran as Essa.

Sorry if i may be taking too long to popularise this small West African Secular State of 1.7 Million population, with about seven (7) ethnic groups of different cultural background leaving together in peace, love and harmony. Despite 90 per cent of the population being Muslims, and the rest are Christians and other minority believes we all live and work together with mutual understanding, love, respect and acceptance to each other's believe, although in life there is always both positive and negative; and here the negative thing that seriously threatens the co-existence of the peace is politics which is causing lot of differences between tribes and the civilian population as a whole. Changing negatives to positive can be good approach to this humanitarian crisis happening all over the world. There are many iPeace mentors that can together make things happen positively in this world if words are to be transformed into actions.

The conflicts in the Middle East, Africa and other parts of the world is a general concern and needs collective efforts from all and sundry. I deeply feels Lan Forster's story on the Auswitch survivors. Its a pain in heart, but what shoud be done now. Approrpiate solutions are highly and urgently needed. Ofcourse only political solution are not the answer. I believe that even if the teenagers will not forget, but they can forgive if their hearts are healed and given back love for humanity that they deserve. To avoid those teenagers retaliating after being Professors, Teachers, Politicians, they must be given that type of education of love and peace to wash out hatred from their hearts.

To promote peace, education is the key. The people must be educated about themselves, the universe and their purpose in live. The world is so dramatic. Many got lost on this pathway of life. We need solutions to the problems of the world than to allow them happening again and again. We are in this and should make so we do whatever good we can to save this lovely earth for we might not pass this way again.

United Nation is mandated to take lead in ensuring GLOBAL PEACE, UNITY AND DEVELOPMENT. They should be taken to task by a united world civil population to promote peace, mutual respect and development on earth. The policy frameworks are already in place. The world civil population have a pivotal role to play in the implementation process of such programmes. Common approach with the full involvement and participation of all stakeholders, including grassroot can be a good approach to ending these catastrophic global humanitarian crisis.

THE YEAR 2009 SHOULD BE A YEAR OF ACTION TO PROMOTE GLOBAL PEACE, UNITY, RESPECT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS, FREEDOM AND JUST. WORDS AND GOALS SHOUD BE TRANSFORM INTO ACTIONS TO PREVENT MORE DEADS IN ADDITION TO THE OVER TWO HUNDRED (200) PEOPLE KILLED IN GAZA, END THE POLITICAL CRISIS IN DR. CONGO, SUDAN, AND ALL OTHER PARTS OF THE WORLD.

The UN has enough resolutions, protocols, etc to push forward for world peace and development, or else people take charge of their destiny for good or for the worst. And this is what is affecting many countries around the world

PEACE, LOVE AND HAPPY NEW YEAR IN ADVANCE TO ALL

Bruce, thank you for the notion of a Portal to Unity. There is a great need for us to unite and bring down the barriers that separate from each other, for we are all part of each other.

The human race has for centuries erected barriers, walls and language that emphasizes these differences between us. We are still doing it.

Portal for Unity is a great idea as it leads us to the acceptance of difference. Difference is an enriching concept not a divisive one. Difference is about creation not destruction. We must stop being threatened by difference. After all Man and Woman are different, but together they create new life. So it should be in the world. Difference in culture, race, beliefs and so on should create new hope not death and war.

As some of us embark upon a new year in a few days we need to take stock of how we view those that are different from us and learn to embrace rather than reject. In fact using the notion of Portals this could mean a whole new way of looking at the world and those that share this beautiful planet with us.

Blessing to all who pass through this Portal, this Doorway of Hope.

The Word. One Candle !

In The Dark Times
as in Gaza Now. He sees ALL.
All You do, find the Hope
look Within, it's All in your Heart

In The Darkest Moment,
Believe in Love & Hope Be Stronger.
our Faith in The One....... Both Children look to The ONE.
our Hope for Tomorrow....... Make Peace not War.. end Suffering?
Hope shines a Light, such Light darkness lifts!
Meditate or Pray with united power, Tomorrows Brighter!

Your Heart knows the truth, follow it.
Go On On On.. Lift your True Spirit high,
No Stopping, Hoping with renewed Strength!
Living for a New Bright Tomorrow,
You are one Candle but together multitudes, Light the World, as One!
Then, we will have a Brighter day.
The brave die only once, Fear is to the Rabbi a Lesson,
The experience of walking in Faith of self & The ONE.

Remember, ONE is within everything.
Look within your Heart. Follow it In Deeds, of Peace. Feel Her walk beside you.
Remember to Love, share peace, all you need do is remember that,
The Universe of Love is nearer than hands & feet.
I Wish, Wish From The Heart, & it is So.

The Brave shall stand, Good will prevail
Positively think act and work towards it, Peace. Dry your Tears... look up.
Doors will open, weapons drop & the Heart fill with Joy.

Do not abandon Belief Hope & Love,
More courage not to lift the Weapons! lest you surrender & be a puppet of War,
The Void is filled by the trinity of Faith Hope & Charity.
Without All Three That Void Possess You. Make your Peace, now!

Other Sheep are gathering too.. & All shall be One.
Always The ONE. always Believe,
Always remember the Goodness, forgive your debtors...
Fill the Void with Love. Find Courage,
Lift your eyes to the prize, your Home!
Look Within & Up and below, it is the Same,
Charity is Within your Heart,
I am...
