While this is one of the most strongly propositioned ideas we've had to combat coins, you have to imagine the EA are smart enough to know about runescape, and would have considered something like this, and decided not to implement it for whatever reasons they have.

One of the first things that springs to mind is the fact that FIFA is an annual game, where as runescape isn't. To implement this system in, year on year (while also progressing the game) my be out of the scope of possibilities with the small team that actually works on FIFA. That being said this most certainly wouldn't be in FUT 16 since the game is already long in development.

Secondly, the reason we have stats as weak as they are in FUT, is because of server space. Everything is stored on the server, so to have something like you suggested where each players goals, games, cards etc are saved for everyone and their individual players, would require MAMMOTH amounts of server space, which EA simply can't afford.

You stated they would make more money with coins gone, and this system in place, but that's not exactly the case. They could potentially make small % margins more for people who buy Fifa 16 coins v FIFA points, but they might have to spend double, triple or higher on staff, development, upkeep and server space just to implement this, which isn't good.

FIFA and runescape also are wildly different games, and there are more ways than one to put coins on to an account. I can already think of several ways to still get coins on to accounts (even with the Grand Exchange) via price manipulation, which EA will never be able to manage, or by account fills w/ the match coin glitch. And that's me suggesting this 5 minutes after reading your post.

As I said, this is indeed one of the most solid in terms of fixing the market, but the impact it would have on the game, and the sheer cost of development might be enough to push this to the sidelines. Runescape lost an incredible bulk of players that they never recovered, EA wouldn't make a move so drastic and fear similar results, especially with PES getting a lot of heat right now, and likely to come out with a FUT style competitor in the next year or two.
