Social Artistry - Jean Houston

Warm greetings to those that use the Manual for the Peacemaker:

Since first being introduced to the story of the Peacemaker by Jean,
and following the path these many years, I have acquired many other
aspects of the story, in greater depth than one might experience just
from the book. I was brought to this thought when being invited to the
upcoming workshops. In the spirit of the Peacemaker the calling of
the allies is what Social Artistry is all about.

While not desiring to take you through my lengthy process, let me
introduce to you the outputs and the information necessary for Social
Artists to think upon. The tradition of the Peacemaker identifies my
new name - and I will spare you the lengthy story of how I acquired
it. Kahkewaquonaby.

I am here to share the opportunity to participate in Launching the ISO
26000 Standard on OCtober 24 2010. The ISO 26000 Standard has been
many years in development as the most prodigious Corporate Social
Reporting System that works for individuals, and corporations and
institutions on the planet, incorporating fully other leading
Reporting Systems.

The purpose of this missive is to have all social artists be aware of
first the existance of the Standard and the MOU - memo of
understanding - between the United Nations Global Compact, and the ISO
Standards organization. There is an agreement to promote the ISO 26000
Standard by the UNGC.

NOW it is up to us Social Artists to demonstrate in all of our
constituencies to the United Nations that this information can be
shared most effectively if done through the vehicle of Social Artists.
In short we have to help the UN implement the Stnadard using our
collective skills and talents.

I call on all Social Artists to assist with the Launch of the ISO
26000 standard on United Nations Day October 24. This Launch event
coincides with the 65th Anniversary of the signing of the UN Charter
of the United Nations. You may recall in the Manual for the
Peacemaker reference to the 30th Anniversary - when the SG of the day
invited Indigenous leaders to the United Nations. Jeans' excellent
recollection of the story leaves out an aspect that was related to me
by Leonard Crow Dog. The smuggling of the Sacred Flame out of the
United Nations. That aspect of the story is momentous if you ever get
a chance to hear it told well. It is symbolic. The flame is alive.
And we are all carriers of it.

So on October 24th the Sacred Fire is being called again - to all
Sacred sites or in our program -at City Halls - to celebrate the
sacredness of all life in the Campaign for the Heart of Africa.

We are aware of significant events taking place in San Francisco and
the usual in NYC - but we ask Social Artists to bring to the Launch of
the ISO 26000 Standard all of their collective skill, wisdom and
process.

I trust that this information will be shared with others in an
appropriate way before your upcoming workshop in order that the
workshop itself may have this intention with regards to the ISO 26000
Standard.

Building on Jean's already well accepted program, I believe if we come
together in an effective way Jeans work will be leveraged multi fold
around the world - in every United Nations office,
