EGO ? - - -

Are we the egos that can control us ? - -

Who are “they” that control “us” ? “They” are the egos that “we” are controlled by. This is where the fear that controls “us” has power over us. People talk about the news mostly being so bad. This is how we are controlled - by the fear. Politicians, the media corporations, and religious leaders use fear to manipulate and gain power over us - and we become victims - the other aspect of the ego.

When we judge the news to be bad . . . “When we judge, we shift attention away from ourself and onto others. By focusing on what is external we keep our attention away from what is occurring inside of us.
Judging others is a way of attempting to change the world, or reorder it to our approval. It is a hemorrhage of energy––in other words, a loss of power. We lose power to the people and circumstances that we judge. . . . The impulse to judge is generated by internal pain. It is more than a psychological impulse. Behind the impulse to judge is a physical pain that would be extremely uncomfortable to experience. Rather than experience it, we act on the impulse and judge.” pp. 266, 267 The Heart of the Soul by Gary Zukav & Linda Francis

“Judging prevents us from revealing ourself to ourself and others. It is a barrier against vulnerability. Judging is a continual offensive in a war against our painful experiences of others or the Universe.
Judging prevents intimacy and the emotions that intimate relationships activate. It is a defense against fear, feeling inadequate, and longing for meaning and companionship. Judging is a preemptive attack against what we most want––intimacy and acceptance––that we launch before we can be rejected or refused intimacy.
Every judgment is an outpouring of fear and the pain of experiencing it. When we judge continually, that outpouring becomes a river of energy that we could have used to shape our life in meaningful and fulfilling ways. Our judgments of others, ourself, and the Universe will not stop until the pain that creates them is healed, and that requires becoming aware of it.
The pain we are avoiding is the key we are searching for. It is our connection to the immense suffering of humanity and the Earth, and the doorway to our compassion.

STRESS IS THE CONSEQUENCE OF RESISTANCE. It is not caused by circumstances in our life. It is not caused by the painful emotions we experience, either. It is caused by our resistance to our life. It is possible for us to encounter a wide variety of circumstances, but it is our resistance to those circumstances that causes stress.
When we resist a circumstance in our life, it takes energy and that produces stress. It is one thing to observe a circumstance and it is another thing to resist it. Challenging and changing a circumstance and resisting it are different. Challenging a situation is using our will to change what we are experiencing--to change the dynamic within ourself that is producing the situation. Resisting is wishing in that moment that we were not experiencing it. It is attempting to stop the experience.
This is important to understand because we will not be able to effectively change a circumstance in our life while we are resisting it. Resisting anything requires energy, and that loss of energy is stress. The amount of stress in our life is determined by how much energy we expend resisting our life.
The more we resist our circumstances, the more stress we bring into our life.” pp. 272 - 274 The Heart of the Soul by Gary Zukav & Linda Francis (i changed the "you" pronouns to "we" thruout these quotes)

“Resisting the circumstances of our life is the same as saying to a river, “You should not be flowing here. You should be flowing over there.” The more we distress ourself over the course of the river, the more energy we lose. We see the river and where it is flowing. We do not like what we see.
Resistance is the second part of this equation: We do not like what we see. Seeing the river and where it flows does not produce stress. Not liking what we see does. Not liking what we see is a loss of energy, not the sight of the river. The flowing river is what we see. The rest is what we add to what we see. When we add dislike, distrust, fear, disdain, disapproval, or any other judgment, we lose energy. That loss of energy is the experience of stress.

Accepting the river as it flows is relief from stress. Relief from stress is freedom. It is the ability to breathe deeply and enjoy the river. It is relaxing into the present moment. The present moment cannot be divided into parts. When we resist anything, we resist the present moment. The present moment is the entirety of our experience. No experience exists outside of the present moment. Memories, regrets, fantasies, and contentment all exist in the present moment. Anger, judgment, disdain, fear, joy, appreciation, and love also exist in the present moment. Every experience that we have, no matter what it is, exists in the present moment.
When we resist anything that we experience, we resist the present moment. When we resist the present moment, we resist our life. When we resist our life, we create stress.” pp. 277 - 278 The Heart of the Soul by Gary Zukav & Linda Francis

“Accepting our life means being present in it, moment by moment. Changing our life begins with accepting our life as it is. When we do that, we are in a position to change. We know where we are, in addition to where we want to go.” p. 279 The Heart of the Soul by Gary Zukav & Linda Francis (i changed the "you" pronouns to "we" thruout these quotes)

“In a world where everybody is living in a traditional, blind, absurd
way, even to talk about truth is dangerous.

It is dangerous because all the vested interests want humanity to
remain retarded, so that the human mind does not evolve to its
ultimate potential.

Because once there are individuals of the caliber of Socrates, Lao
Tzu, Gautam Buddha, then there is no possibility of any exploitation,
physical or psychological; no possibility of any oppression, no
possibility of enslaving the human soul.

And all the politicians need slaves, and the priests need slaves. They
don’t want humanity to blossom and to release its fragrance to the
winds, to the sun, to the moon. They want you just to produce more
money for them, more power for them, more slaves for them, more
population for them.”

[The Osho Upanishad, Ch #17]

We — You — I — object egos that we have created out of fear - that exist within space. This space (which is god) — being — presence — now — eternity . . .

Control by fearful egos produce more fear. Time is ego. Timeless is no ego. Now is timeless. Now is. Now is egoless — being — consciousness.
Ego is control — power — maya — within the undefinable egoless space of controless consciousness.
Ego can’t be in being. Ego is the death of Being. Fear, death and destruction are of ego.
When our egos are not there, LIFE can happen. LIFE lives thru our being now — experience the timeless egoless being — our alive destiny manifests thru this being — conscious.

“It is misleading to say that someone chose a dysfunctional relationship, or any other negative situation in his or her life. Choice implies consciousness — a high degree of consciousness — without it — you have no choice. Choice begins the moment you dis-identify from the mind and its conditioned patterns — the moment you become present. Until you reach that point — you are unconscious — spiritually speaking.”
from Eckhart Tolle in The Power of Now

So when we choose to be conscious — each of us free to make our conscious choices . . . freely . . . a free sharing . . . a free market . . . people free to exchange — the natural power is there — here now — in allowing ourselves to just BE — and our free exchange to just BE, but the politicians and citizens had selfishly tried harnessing this free market power — creating poverty and greed instead thru our fearful egos that are afraid of freedom and responsibility.
If we try to harness our beings — EGO is in the harnessing and being slips away. Then you — your real self — slips away — leaving ego you — the illusion of you in control — the false fearful ego controlling you is in control . . . and all the real peaceful love, joy and wisdom is lost.

The arising consciousness now, however, growing beyond the limits of ego fear — can accept what is — freely — the fearless joy of our freely sharing exchanges and authentic life power can begin together.

What if you could harness the power of the free market to solve the problems of poverty, hunger, and inequality? To some, it sounds impossible. But Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus is doing exactly that. As founder of Grameen Bank, Yunus pioneered microcredit, the innovative banking program that provides poor people––mainly women––with small loans they use to launch businesses and lift their families out of poverty.
