Who are we trying to fool?

We believe that fine words, universal declarations of love, light, sunshine , meditation, God and his angels, etc. etc. .. will reduce violence in society. We believe we can shine our way to peace.

We think we can fill the word LOVE with substance by repeating it often enough.
Instead we are draining this beautiful word of its original meaning. We are telling each other what good peace workers we are by trying to win the shining competition and we adress to the already believers who can not even absorb more light but only reflect it back to the sender. So goes the light pointless back and forth in already-lit rooms, without even touching upon the darkness

We are doing more and more of the same and less and less of what is needed; understanding, analysis and action . We have removed ourselves from honesty, truth and courage to face the reality

Who are we trying to fool? The only people who believe in the message is already cheated.
Violence, war and misery are our reality, and it requires more than pretty words.
So let us help each other to open up I-Peace , for the sorrow, the pain, the misery, the abuse, the violence etc. That could be a first step to something better.
At least an honest try..

We owe all who suffer to act in their cause and we owe it to ourselves to use our light more meaningful, and not dazzle each other.
Light was added to illuminate the darkness and that is our task, this is why we are here on earth and also why we are on this network (or should be)

Yes good intentions... or we are just afraid to show ourselves since we need so much to be appreciated. We are also suffering from authority complex. That`s why we need all our quotes, we do not believe we have something to say or come up with ourselves...So we are following the stream,,make us feel more secure, and make it possible to hide who we really are...
Just my reflection :) I´m maybe wrong..
But I take the risk :) :)

I say amen to that ;)
I think it`s lovely too that more than 20.000 individuals can come together, all with good intentions.. What a brilliant opportunity to create things...
That doesn`t mean that i think we ,in genaeral, are taking good care of this opportunity...
Not at all....

What "does my heart good" is just knowing that there is a place on the internet where there are some 20,993 peace-loving people...iPeace...where I can go to get a "recharge" in this dismal world of "conflict"- that takes so many forms. Living in the area where I live, Fairfield County, near New York City, I see and hear so much that sits heavy on my heart. Often times I have no energy left to hear the world news events. The people here (a small percentage of the world population) who dare add their names to that of "Peacemakers" encourage one another. Even in our own group on iPeace we have "differences". What separates us from the rest of the world is that we can say what we have on our minds, and then wait for others to "listen"...respond...and perhaps even help us grown in our thoughts! Everything is for teaching. We will learn from each other and, hopefully, take part in reaching the hearts of those who need to learn! I am ready to listen! ...and grow!

To tijash. Wish it was so simple and that that gave food to all starving children in Africa and elsewhere and that the "mahrishi effect" (whatever that is) could put an end to the middle east conflicts and all the rest of the world violence.
No when will you realize that these theories were maybe not the way and try something more concrete?

To Mahmood I also have periods when I think, what am I doing here. Couldn`t I use my time to something more worthwhile for someone else instead. Someone that really do need a helping hand. We are living in a little oasis of Peace here in Sweden but my God there are many people suffering, from loneliness, illness, abuse, violence etc so there is much to do. And for those living in war/conflict zones I cannot even imagine the misery.
Yesterday I read a blog-post that had a line saying something like this;" the more I suffer the more I laugh..." That made me write this blog.post, since I was thinking of all the people all over the world, that cannot even smile because of hunger or because they are living at the edge of the death all the time, since a war is going on. So what do we know about suffering. I do not think that those who really suffer do laugh...not even smile...
But we are sitting here "shining" on each other in our safe little word while the real life is going on all around us, Sometimes even on our threshold we can find missery and violence.
We do not have to LOVE everybody but just CARE for some..and show that in honest action. That`s already a start *smile*

Well said, dear Gunilla, how many just use this word Love or Peace for no sake. It has become for some just words with no meaning at all. I sometimes do not want to answer or write anything. I feel the sufferings of those who are in the war/conflict zones. I feel with the children and mothers who do not the future of a harmonic area where they dwell in Peace and live a world of less fear.

I wonder...Many times I have thought why not stay quite and just leave, since I can be a bit provocative in order to start a discussion, and therefore i`m afraid that I can hurt someone and that is absolutely not my intention. But I`m so eager to make people see what I have seen and noticed and therefore maybe I`am loosing some proportions:)

But I`m glad when you are saying that it can be some value in awaking these kind of questions...which maybe take us to a somewhat deeper level *smile'

Gunilla, never give up "speaking" what is in your heart! It will translate no matter what language we speak to those who "understand" the meaning! Keep reaching out in the darkness for "those seeking the light". Abraham Lincoln once said, "I do not like that man,...I must get to know him better.". Some things are lost in translation, and it is often difficult to "hear" the intent of the writer. This we must do with our hearts! ...and our "ears"...and in the case of this blog...with the written words. Things will not change if we are "comfortable". We need to stir our hearts and learn all we can! As little time as I have to respond sometimes, I do "get" what you are trying to convey to us! Thank you for taking your time to awaken those thoughts within us!
Peace be with you,
Hanne

To Hanne . You almost made me cry, since you did understand what i was trying to say...that warmed my heart so. just the feeling of not being alone with troubled thoughts and the possibility to share them with someone, that means a lot *smile*

Your story was so wonderful and a brilliant example of Peace making, without a word just an act of an observing man and he obtained so much by what he did and and created so many invisible but positive "circles on water" effects.
There is so much we can do, just as you said a helping hand to an old and lonely person in our neighborhood, that is also examples of contributing to a better world. We have to start somewhere, where we are really needed.

Thank you Hanne...

Yes.. we shall send positive vibrations to all in need of them, we shall shine for all those who need our light, we can pray for those needing our prayers, and we shall contribute to make the darkness in the world less dark. Not only that we can we ought too, but if we spend all our energy to shine on the light it will maybe not be much leftover for the darkness. or for those in need...
I do not know if i succeed in explaining what i meant...and I do not know if i have misunderstood many things here..but I will permit myself to reflect upon things *smile* if I can not I can not stay since I will not feel well...and I will not be pleased with myself...
I may be so totally wrong, but i will still defend my right to ventilate thoughts that troubles me..even if that will create problems for me *smile*

Thank you Adolphus for sharing your point of view
