WISDOM through Man's search for MEANING

Dear friends,

referring to the global wisdom concept I delineated in my other respective blog below, I personally would like to enrich the iPeace endeavor also with the psychological perspective of "Logotherapy" wich specifically caters to the MEANING of our individual lifes.
This scientific approach has been devised by Prof. Viktor E. Frankl, being one of the world's leading psychiatrists last century (next to Freud and Adler)

Frankl states that every person possesses a healthy spiritual core and (axiomatically) he/she is free in his/her will to activate it towards a meaningful life, i.e. the actuation of one's spiritual power by means of valuable and responsible(!) dedication towards a personal mission and love towards other people.

According to this mindset, life does not owe you happiness, it (only) offers you different sets of meaning in every moment of your life, which fosters a demand quality to which people shall respond if their decisions are to be reflective, valuable and responsible.
And this can be done only by heart-borne knowledge, i.e. spiritual wisdom, driven by our sound conscience.

In a nutshell, body and mind (including information) are what we have and the spirit (knowledge and wisdom) is what we ARE.

For this meta life concept Frankl received 29 honorary doctorates from universities in all parts of the world. He wrote over 30 books and became the first non-American to be awarded the American Psychiatric Association’s prestigious Oskar Pfister Prize and was a visiting professor at Harvard, Stanford and other universities in Pittsburgh, San Diego and Dallas. Frankl has given lectures at 209 universities on five continents. The U. S. International University in California installed a special chair for Logotherapy- this is the psychotherapeutic school founded by Frankl, often called the “Third Viennese School” (after Freud’s Psychoanalysis and Adler’s Individual Psychology.)

I do hope that this meaningful perspective might strongly help to foster such peace project(s) like iPeace, since this life concept is a superordinated general one, valid for every person on earth, irrespective of his/her current (even perhaps adverse) life situation be it religios, ethnic, economic, political or health related.....

Spiritual wisdom is THE distinguishing feature in our development from being a mere "person" into a virtuous, shining "personality"....
Hence, to my understanding, a meaningful life comes along with my own impassionate reference to my inmost positive F.eelings, A.ttitudes, I.nspirations and r.espectful R.esponsibilities......
To be wise means to me to be F.A.I.R. and vice versa.... ;-)

Heart.ful greetings
Dirk

Renee....can´t you re-state your statement in simpler words that we can all ´get´ I hear the anti-formal religion. but do you see spirituality as a viable option, and what does it mean to you? Respectfully....arisur
