Worldwide Moment - Simultaneous Photo Shoot for Peace

Can you imagine people from every country in the world participating in a simultaneous moment of peace?

Can you imagine the photographs this moment would produce?

Can you imagine the impact? ... We can... Please join us.

Worldwide Moment is a non-profit arts organization which encourages people around the world to celebrate peace and international collaboration by taking simultaneous photographs and sharing their stories. 2009's Moment occurs when the time is Wednesday September 9, 2009 at 9:09AM in the +09GMT time zone, or 09.09.09+09GMT@09:09.

So that means when it's:

* Wednesday morning September 9 at 9:09AM in Japan and North Korea
* Wednesday morning September 9 at 3:09AM in Darfur and Iraq
* Tuesday evening September 8 at 8:09PM in New York and Chile
* Tuesday afternoon September 8 at 2:09PM in Hawaii...

...all you have to do is take a photograph for peace. Nearly 1,000 photographers from 65 countries have pledged to participate.

After the Moment occurs, upload your photo, location, and a short description of your Moment, to the Worldwide Moment website www.WorldwideMoment.org. The photo collection will then be available online, in a book publication to benefit international charities, and will eventually premier in-person at a soon-to-be determined gallery. If you are a gallery owner or representative interested in showing the photos please contact us.

Whether amateur or professional, film or digital, Polaroid or camera phone, young or old, this is for EVERYONE. All you have to do is take a photograph at the specified Moment. And for those who want to participate but don't have a camera? WE WANT TO GIVE YOU ONE. Contact us.

To see Worldwide Moment's 2008 exhibit of 270 photographs from 20 countries visit our Gallery.

Thank you very much for your support. We hope you'll join us.

What, if peace already existed?
Nothing to fix.
There was nothing to do.
Just BE.
“The truth can only be known in the now.”

— White Buffalo

White Buffalo tells us the truth is not static. Like everything in the Universe, the truth is constantly evolving. What was true for us, even in the moment just passing, may not be true for us in the present moment.White Buffalo teaches us that willingness is the key to knowing truth. The reason is simple: willingness allows us to embrace whatever is honestly there in the present moment, without having to deny or resist anything that may be confronting us. If we are emotional in the now, we must recognizing that this distorts our perception of the now-based truth. When we distort truth with our emotions, we are typically not in present time, but instead filtering our perception of the now through past experience or through our fears and fantasies about the future. When this happens, we must wait and allow the passage of time to bring us the clarity we seek. Truths that we discover in the now may be quite familiar to us or they may present a dramatic challenge to beliefs we hold with great attachment, conviction and emotional charge. As we become attuned to higher guidance, we find that many beliefs and opinions fall by the wayside. This higher wisdom allows us to come to each moment, willing to change our minds about anything we once thought certain.
