Thank you, Michael. You will love the International Peace Gardens, especially if you keep in mind that Canada and the USA share the longest border on this planet and have never been to war against each other since becoming two sovreign freedom-loving countries. We've had our differences, yet we've always been able to solve them via diplomatic means. This is a magnificent testament to the power of nonviolent means to peace, just as Gandhi demonstrated.
There is one other thing, though, that I'd like to share with you now. It's a quote about the devastating effects that poverty has as an obstacle to peace.
"Wars against nations are fought to change maps; wars against poverty are fought to map change." -- Muhammad Ali
Hey Michael, Good to see you joined iPeace! The photo of me was taken this past July 2008 at the International Peace Gardens. I call it, "One Foot in Canada and One foot in ND, USA." The Peace Chapel there is so totally awesome. It's so elegant in its simplicity. There are peace quotes from all over the world, from most historical eras that are engraved on the marble walls. If you haven't been there, I urge you to visit The International Peace Gardens as soon as you can. The chapel moved me to tears. -- Peace BE, Rev. Kriss
