My dear friend
I can't imagine what it's living in occupation!! :( But my country, Portugal, lived in a Ditacturial Regim by 40 years. I do not lived that period, but i know what my mam and dad told me.
Have corage, my dear friend... With our help Palestine will be a free country!!
Peace and Love for you and all your friends and family over there!
I do have some ideas. But I am not there in Gaza, so i need your guidance about what will work and what will not, and what is important and what is not.
I read through some of the information about the problems in Gaza, and here's the ideas that came to mind. Please help me to improve them.
1. Traumatised Children - I would make puppet shows with the children telling their experiences. Then if possible I would video the performance and put it on youtube for all the world to see. It would help the children deal with the trauma, and also raise awareness of the issues. Children's own expression can be very powerful.
2. Hatred, and violence - I would teach martial arts such as aikido that show how peacefulness can be powerful, and can channel their aggression into more positive directions.
3. Sewage not being treated - Put in simple low tech solutions such as composting toilets, or wetland treatment systems.
4. Can't get medicines and food aid - use permaculture technology to grow the medicine and food necessary even in the difficult circumstances. There are many people developing techniques for growing things in every possible situation. I am sure it would be possible in Gaza too.
5. Conflict with israel - make friendships over the internet or through letters with children and people from israel. When people are friends they will not be able to fight each other.
As you can see I have many ideas. I hope something there will be useful to you.
Hi Majed from Japan...just wondering if you received any of the origami paper we sent you in march...all was sent to the hospital in Jerusalem as there were lots of pens, crayons and other gifts.... peace with you and happy spring for all those beautiful children
The first step is always understanding. It is so difficult to understand from the outside what the real situation really is. Perhaps the first thing i need is to hear more about what is going on, and what difficulties you are facing? What books and parcels are you needing? What is actually lacking there?
I am a community facilitator, and i think i have the skills to really help the palestinian situation, but my time is tied up in far less important things, but things i have to do to earn money.
I have been thinking if i could get a job with someone like the UNRWA as a facilitator I might be able to focus more of my time and energy on really making a difference.
I guess the first thing i have to understand is whether they would be a good place for me to work or whether i should look somewhere else? Would they appreciate my work, would i appreciate their work?
What was your experience working for them? What was your job? What is your opinion of their work? Are they doing worthwhile things?

Hello Majed, hope spring is bringing good things to you and the children in Gaza. I am wondering if the origami paper arrived at the hospital in Jerusalem. There will be two boxes with art supplies also comming from Japan in about a month from now.
Best wishes,
Maryse
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly on that, Majed. So you are saying that an empty police office in the Jabaliya camp was destroyed by a bomb yesterday, and that 3 children who were nearby were injured? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Keep up your excellent work, and stay safe and strong!
shookran, shookran,
Joanna
ps: to what address do I send the Western Union??
Hi Majed, I just got an email from Jim, one of the CODEPINK delegates. He said he'd heard that there was a bomb dropped on the Jabaliya refugee camp this morning (Sunday March 15th), and he was urgently seeking information. Do you know anything about it? Has anyone been hurt? I sent Ahmed an email but haven't heard back from him yet. Please let me know.
I got back home from Gaza (via Cairo) last night. I will be writing about the trip as soon as I can gather my thoughts, but meanwhile just wanted to thank you so much for making the effort to find me when I got to Gaza. It was absolutely wonderful to meet you! I'm so sorry that there wasn't time to go to your apartment and meet your family. NEXT TIME FOR SURE! I am hoping to return in mid-May, when an international flotilla will be sailing from Cypress to Gaza.
With all the destruction, all the killing, all the terrible suffering, the people of Gaza are absolutely amazing: loving, generous, kind, intelligent, determined and forgiving. You have all touched my heart deeply.
Majed, please let me know how to wire you the $$. I am eager to do so!
Hello Majed
I have collected many origami paper and coloring pencils and crafts... Tomorrow we will have a little benifit for the children with the Japanese children. I will send the parcel of collected goods within a few days. It will take 3 to 4 weeks to arrive but I hope the children will enjoy the gifts.
Peace
