And I moved with my German-Tibet group on the site "Candle4Tibet"? Or what? There was between the two founders of Tibet in my soul and my differences. Tim, my dear friend, thank you for your second invitation to friendship! In German we say: Doubled lasts better / longer. But there is another thing left to do: You asked me to send my message again to you, because you couldn't get read. Well, the message I sent went anywhere into the universe. But I can try to tell you again:
I have some connection with Brazil, for example as I'm a member of the German partner organization of the AVICRES in Brazil. This is an ngo in Nova Iguacu. AVICRES is an abbreviation of Associacao Vida no Crescimento e na Solidariedade. Main part of their work is managing houses for children from the street, medical care, help in juristic questions, solidariedade with a group of Guarani, centers for learning a profession / handycraft.
I also support a big project in your location Sao Paulo (for people with AIDS, founded by Lisette Eicher, for people that need a home and a communitiy. The German name is 'Stern der Hoffnung' = 'Star of Hope' and the first house founded in Sao Paulo about 15 or 18 years ago was Casa da Esperanza. Maybe you have heard about it. I know Lisette from my former living place Paderborn. She is a wonderful friendly and creative person.
One of the best friends of my daughter Kara, aged 6) came from Brazil last spring. They go into the same class in school. But Giulia now is lying in bed with pneumonia (her first winter in Germany).
In the year 2000, I joined a group going to Brazil for getting an impression of the projects of the AVICRES and your wonderful country and culture and nature. Most time we stayed in Nova Iguacu but we also went to Rio de Janeiro several times and spent some days on the beautiful Ilha Grande. The most impressive thing during that time were all these faces, most people in Brazil do have much more temperament than people in Germany, you can see that in the faces. And in your country you can find every type of face and so much beauty. In that summer / your winder, there was an election campaign, many cars driving around playing music like 'Morenga de Nordeste'.
About ten years ago, music groups playing SAMBA became very pupular in Cologne. Some years I joined such a group, first playing the Agogo and later the SURDO, that I like so much becaue of its so deep and mystical sound.
What I also like so much is Capuera and I like the sound of the berimbao. I brought one from Brazil. Here in Cologne also exist some groups of Capoeira, but I'm not sportive enough to do something like that but I enjoy watching those dancing and fighting cats.
Oh, the alarm clock of Kara is ranging. 7 o'clock in the morning. I have to leave the computer.
