Ripples
A tender leaf covered with dew
The thrusting stem green and new
Ferny fronds a lace curtain made
Tiny fungi growing in shade

A plastic carton on the forest floor
Will this be there for evermore
A crumpled cup once used for tea
Becomes an imprint on eternity

The law of cause and effect we know
Can change the way our lives will go
It ripples throughout the universe for all time
An act committed can become a crime

For time forgot the leaves covered in dew
It was something we once knew
Where ferny fronds once curtains made
Could people and animals become erased

We members of the human race
Can make the world a better place
Care for the planet on which we dwell
Love all who reside there and all may be well...

My wife and i refer to ourselves as "Canine-Americans". It is nice to see another animal lover on this site. Guapo comes with me to work at my physiotherapy clinic everyday and is the main reason that patients come (back) to see me. i have befriended hurt, sick, abandoned dogs in Romania, Tibet, Japan, Ecuador and here in America.
