Dear Willem,

Thanks for the comments. Sorry for the late reply. I sent you the current situation about Burma. Thanks for your concern for burmese people.Burma need people like you.

Present Situation of Burma

I am Myo Thein, Director of Burma Democratic Concern (BDC) which is
campaigning to restore democracy and human rights in Burma. My
brother, Myo Yan Naung Thein, is now in prison due to his leading role
in 2007 Saffron Revolution. He faced severe torture during
interrogation so much so that his lower part of body from the waist
downward becomes paralysed as the result. This is one of the examples
of brutalities facing the Burmese people ad there are thousands more
to be revealed.
As we are living in global village, every country is interdependence
due to the mutual responsibility and dependency on others. Our
organization pursuit its mission of promoting the international
support to resolve our country's long standing crisis. I would like to
stress here that Burma crisis is not only Burmese people crisis but
world's crisis as we are bond in humanity.
Together, we can make the difference and change the lives of Burmese
people. We have to eliminate military dictatorship in Burma before
junta plan to hold rigged 2010 elections, unless otherwise Burma will
be under brutal military dictatorship forever and ever and ever. Burma crisis has been happening for 20 years and International Community is
day-dreaming for military regime's positive response to their appeal.
We have never seen Burmese military regime is willingly to see
national reconciliation in Burma. Instead, whenever international
pressure is mounting on Burma, military regime is using the magic.
Delaying to answer the call, then allow to come in the envoy after the
delay or promise to meet Aung San Suu Kyi just to have media exercise,
and then manipulated the visiting envoys or meeting Aung San Suu Kyi
for very short time with so-called liaison minister until waiting for
the time when international attention divert from Burma, and finally
go back to status quo.
This is time to take actions and not words. Military government bought
the time for 20 years and we should not let it happen anymore. We
don't want any more waiting games. If military regime doesn't
understand carrot and then, it is time to use stick. Regime should be
punished by the international community by posing universal arms
embargo on Burma and by posing universal economic sanctions. What is
the purpose of United Nations standing for if it cannot take
effective action decisively and proactively rather than waiting and
delaying? It should be the organisation trust worthy. This is the time
United Nations to send ultimate ultimatum to the Burmese junta to cooperate fully with the international community. We are now in race against time. This is the time to take action "NOW" and it would be ruinous for the United Nations to overlook the urgency of the Burma's situation.

United Nations must take serious precedence action on Burma,
especially United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon's more
personal engagement and United Nations Security Council's binding
resolution on Burma. Let us make it clear that Burma crisis needs ultimate attentions and actions taken from both United Nations Secretary General and United Nations Security Council
because there is no substantial political progress in Burma for 20
years. Above all, Aung San Suu Kyi has been calling for genuine
time-bound dialogue but regime fails to cooperate and declared that they are planning to hold another election in 2010 without honoring the 1990
elections results in which Aung San Suu Kyi's party, National League
for Democracy (NLD), won landslide victory.
We must have more vigorous and bolder intervention of United Nations in Burma more than ever. Military government is trying everything they can to entrench military dictatorship in Burma and the question is what will UN do, given that people of Burma expressed their will already overwhelmingly by voting for Aung San Suu Kyi as their leader in 1990 elections. United Nations got the obligation to implement the result of 1990 election accordingly. This is totally unacceptable that elections were held and without honouring them. We should not let it happen not only in Burma but also in the world at large. Knowing that United Nations
organisation is standing to promote peace, security, social justice,
human rights protection, good governance and the democratic process
and we are very encouraged about that. But we wanted to see more
actions rather than words.
Aung San Suu Kyi said very crystal clearly that "If this country
(Burma) is to achieve genuine democracy, the result of the elections
of 1990 must be recognized." This is the solution of the current
crisis of Burma. We must implement the 1990 elections results
accordingly if wanted to see PEACE, progress and prosperity in Burma.

Myo Thein

Willem I too would like very very much to be able to sit over coffee (or tea if you prefer ;) and for good cause to both of us, for I feel the exchange would benefit both greatly, in assisting our mutual cause and the world would benefit greatly as a result so its not for selfish reason I would welcome that!
I pray also for you. I understand what it is to be a warrior all to much so.
And I will keep fighting until there is peace on earth, and it RULES this world.
If I die trying, so be it, its worth it.
Take head when you focus on an enemy,
doing so is what turns us into one ourselves.
Focus on what you must, but please give more than equal focus on the peace keeper.
That must be the one who grows strongest, feeding evil with attention, aids in its growth,
not only within us but all around us.
Know your enemy but beyond that focus on the solution more than the problem once identified.

If all the worlds problems are looked on at once, there becomes clear,
there is something in common with them all.
I deal with that thing in common,
If you find many problems, and a reason for them,
if you offer a solution, you solve many more problems,
than dealing with each individual one, when the reason for them still is not addressed.

KNOW the value of peace,
If by terror that is the objective to destroy,
dont help it win, build it faster than it can be destroyed.

Thank you Willem!
I do not know much about Buddhism, though I know of knowledge that is huge that can be found even within a blade of grass.
If I but see it and open myself to it, a book could be written of the wisdom's of a single blade of grass.. I have lived mostly away from human contact, I know earth, I know sky, I know stars, I know wolves, I know bear, I know caribou, I know bison, I know eagle and hawk and many different animals who walk in the air, but do not know well the traditions and teachings of my own kind.
Insight to these is embarrassed as one of thirst drinks in deeply sweet spring waters.

I also wish you to know I respect these perceptions beliefs and wisdom's of your even if vastly different from my own.
Yet as it would seem, as both seek and seek to speak of the truth, we may in time find we are speaking the same things, only seen through different eyes.
In order to try and understand my own kind, I need to a sheltered degree, to try to see the world through their eyes.
I say sheltered degree, because in order to learn how Than Shwe can be accepting of the cruelty onto others, there is danger, that I may indeed see how it is possible to accept doing such a thing, and I may become more like that which I seek to understand.
Yet as one who shares with him a common ground of being alive, through what we hold in common, I know on knowing truth, I could in no way be at peace with myself, and telling myself to see a world that is not right, IS right a battle then is within me, for my heart knows only truth, even if my mind is deceived.
The body and mind being one, of course cancer will take place! The darkness has invaded and been invited into what "knows" by its very being, what IS the truth, because he EXISTS in truth.
His effect upon it, is to seek to spread what he holds as truth that his heart knows is not.
That he may create an environment, that also supports the delusion that any is above another man.

As to a creator, I did not create myself.
I remember that which did.
I cannot see in denial my own experiences, its thus is beyond what I may "believe" because "knowing", has replaced "belief".
but this does not prevent me from respecting the rights of others, nor their beliefs, nor being able to learn from them!
I hold all wisdom's and all religions in high regard, as I hold any who seek and speak truth, as more windows on this world in which I am currently, alive.
My you be blessed by the higher power of your choice, even if that means there is none in your eyes I still respect that and wish you blessings, and truth, and may you take your own path to this place that all religions hold self evident,
because it is truth.
And if Than Shwe, finds truth, then he too shall be equally able, to come to peace and would automatically, want to make peace and do with all his life, all he can to undo damages done, even if he never succeeds, he will know the importance of doing so, and the greater the crime, the greater the need to do more good in this world to TRY and restore balance to the darkness that has been spread.
It is thus, the greater warrior of peace, those who have caused harm, learned the truth, and hold such HUGE motive, to do right.
In order to help Than Shwe see the light, I then first need to see and take within me his darkness, and win the fight myself, before I can share with him, the path to do so himself, in few and simple words, that any language is no barrier to understanding.

If I fight those who are deceived, they only seek ways to defend their self-deception.
Making it harder, to reach through their walls, to touch their hearts.
I seek to heal, before the destroyer destroys himself, and we loose that potentual of one so motivated to give his life in the service of those he caused suffering, like few ever before him, to seek with his entire being, some way to restore in equal measure, the pain caused.
I have walked the path of darkness myself,
I turned.

Dear Tree, Than Shwe has had a series of operations because he is one of the generals who suffers cancer. If an engaged Human Rights activist wants to be effective he has to choose and focus on specific issues. As an engaged Buddhist I don’t believe in a creator beyond or a judging god. Everything is the creation of man and only man is responsible and able to heal the consequences of the battle between self and others in his own heart; of the impact of the forces of good and evil; of conscience and barbaric behaviour. Personally I don’t want to look at the world from above but learn about the consequences of narcism and total ignorance by lending my ear and heart to the brave individuals who have fallen prey to the insatiable selfish nature of beings like Than Shwe, Kim Jong-il, Hu jintao…..oh the list is so painfully long! Millions and millions of my fellow human beings are deprived, tortured and used as workforces for the hungry throats of the elite. My investigation in the nature of evil is not abstract, after the holocaust man has the responsibility to expose their evil nature and be aware that there are many concentration camps that operate in Asia, including gas chambers and ovens. In the second World War god has done nothing against it, and now in the 21 century he’s doing nothing again; it’s up to us, up to man to put an end to these terrible atrocities. With respect, be well, willem

If brought to justice by the hand of man, this would be well, save other than what would begin as a result that would go beyond Burma and into this whole earth.
"Do you know that most of the top generals are really sick with cancer and other diseases"
This is the first anyone has told me this, yet it is already known to me.

Yet what has befallen them, will be small in the leader of the generals eyes when he sees it befall on himself.
It is HE who must walk the path of peace and become a warrior for it, or he will destroy himself.
If he is destroyed by the hand of man, a greater suffering will follow for many.
If he is destroyed by the hand of a nation or nations, an even greater suffering will follow for man.
This is not my will, it is the web of life and how all things are related.
But wish no evil on evil, the more who do so, the greater the risk of us all.
This is not game I play, this is more important than just my one life.
Any strength of my spirit, I send to Daw Aung San Suu Ky.
And ALL those who are not tempted off of the path of peace.
All those, who refused to be corrupted by the dark one,
Their power, is far greater than I can put to words,
Their gift they give this world, is greater still than just their own lives,
and will certainly last longer,
but I pray, the destroyer is not destroyed, but is brought to true peace.
or much suffering for generations will result.
This is not my will.
Nor of the creator of all life on earth.
These are critical times in the history of our kind on this earth,
what happens shortly, determines a large course of a mighty river,
that all the powers of man cannot change once it has begun.
Peace will come to this earth, it is best for all, if we all choose this.
What should be feared, is if we do not.
What should be rejoiced, is if the people of peace, succeed,
and those who serve the destroyer turn sides before it is to late.

I share your frustration with organized religion, too. If only the organized religions understood how simple it is.

"If anyone says, 'I love God,' yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother." (1 John 4:20-21).

dear willem,

thanks for your reply! I love to get in touch with other views, different ways, wise men+women. I think that the individual path is like a puzzle, a patchwork, very colourful ! and it never ends to grow and integrate new themes and such expanding on and on ...

I am also very interested in human rights - and support amnesty international and many others NGOs, with donations and in protest-mail-campaigns.

there are so many ways to help, to be an active part of the world, to enrich peace ... I am very grateful for the lot of opportunities we have.
