But I like the people and I have many friends here. Yes there are Tibetans here and Lahulis and Kashmiris and Punjabis and Nepalis....the list goes on. But I prefer to see the human being. We are all the same and I feel when people can look at another person and not see his or her nationality, religion, colour of skin, age etc then will be one family.
Prem Rawat once said that if you have a fight with your family you can always move out and go and live somewhere else. But where can a human being go? The moon? We have to get along together and it begins by recognising who we are - each individual. When we feel that peace within and know the source - we can see that in others as well.
I came here because my degree is in Earth Sciences and I love rocks and mountains. I've just completed a book on the Geology of this area which I will publish myself when I have the money. But I find that because I am able to tap into that place within me I can then appreciate the wonder of nature and enjoy the Himalaya mountains more. Even the thunderstorm which is raging outside at the moment. The clouds and the sky are amazing.
That's the trick - not to look outside for love and peace and happiness. Go to the source. I've been to Nepal once and hope to return before too long.
