My blessed friends. Every morning after I do my meditation and my practice, a small snippet of someone speaking in my head, like a wisp of Sandlewood smoke reverberates in my ears and I try and write these thoughts down in a short sentence on Twitter at Miguel12345 if you would ever care to have a passage in the morning. Sometimes it sets my day up perfectly. I promise not to waste your time with mindless drivel. Love to you all and have a most glorious weekend. with golden Metta, Miguel
Tina, today I dedicate my practice, my prayers, my thoughts and love all to a
special one and to the Haitian families and Families of Tibet that they might
have some respite from this natural disaster, that the relief might reach them,
that they may feel the hand of their God intervene and soothe them as a new
child that is not calm. They are as children now with nothing to comfort them
and we must in our souls become the surrogate caretakers of these lovely and
forsaken members of our great Tribe. May they be forgiving to nature and their
hearts be filled with the union of caretakers that we have become. Bless the
rich and mighty that have given deeply of their fortunes and the ones that are
in the public eye that give deeply for these poor and unfortunate brothers and
sisters. My prayers are with you all and Tina, you are practicing loving
kindness, the Metta daily. I read what you write and know that your heart
overflows with love to give and it flows like the river
that gives life to all. Blessings to you for your compassion and I, following your lead will do all I can to lift the spirits of the ones of

Essence is like the sun itself. The sun’s nature is to shine, to be warm, and to illuminate. In the same way, you should distinguish between mind and mind essence. Mind essence has all three of these qualities. It is the essence of this mind essence that is empty, the nature of this mind essence that is cognizant, and the capacity of this mind essence that is unconfined.
The ground is Buddha-nature, which is unmistaken in nature, the basic state of all things. It is the natural state, which is not made by the Buddha, and not created by any ordinary being either. It’s naturally so, all by itself. That is the ultimate truth. Whether a buddha comes into this world or not, the nature of things is still the nature of things. The Buddha is someone who realizes what is true, what actually exists. If we want to become enlightened, we simply have to acknowledge or recognize what is.

Dearest Jussara, how beautiful a passage. My life is beautiful and serene and I just woke from a might nap of innocent sleep after having a birthday breakfast with family. We woke to the Food Channel and more food. My sister is off to celebrate with friends by seeing "The Village People". I don't know if you remember them but the sang YMCA and are the alternative lifestyle band that were famous in the early 70s. We had complimentary tickets but I could not bear the crowd. Consider, too, that successful efforts that would be deemed more than good enough when evaluated from an external perspective may not satisfy our inner judge, who can drive us ruthlessly. In order to attain balance, we have to learn the art of patience even as we strive to achieve our highest vision of who we are. When we feel drained, tense, or unhappy as we pursue our goals, it may be that we are pushing ourselves for the wrong reasons. Our enthusiasm for our endeavors will return as soon as we recall that authentic evolution is a matter not of winning but of taking pride in our progress at any pace.

What defines a Bhikkhu, a gentle one, a self-controlled one, and an enlightened one?
The Blessed Buddha Gotama answered:
He who has reached calm stilling by a path developed by himself, who has crossed
over all doubt and uncertainty, who by giving up both this life & any new becoming,
who has lived the Noble life, whose renewed existence has become fully destroyed,
such one is a Bhikkhu....
Any recluse, who does not harm anyone in the whole world, who just looks on every
object in aware equanimity, imperturbable, humble, without pride, is a gentle one...
Any one whose senses are all controlled, whether the object is internal or external,
who has understood both this world and the next, who being developed just awaits
his last moment, like a waiter waits for his salary, such quiet one, is self-controlled!
Having comprehended all fabrications, journeying-on, dying here & re-arising there,
whose mental pollutions have faded away, who is without blemish, stainless, purified,
arrived at the destruction of the regeneration of birth, him they call enlightened...
This elated the mind of Sabhiya, who approving, delighted, glad, enraptured by joy,
asked for permission to join the Buddha's Sangha. After the usual probationary
period of four months, Sabhiya in this very life awakened himself as an Arahat.
