This is my simple religion: There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness. --Dalai Lama
Profile Information
When it comes to peace, how would you describe yourself?
I am a born activist
What do you believe are the 'burning issues' today?
War, Hunger, Poverty, Our Planet, Violence, Human Rights
What must we overcome to achieve peace?
Fear
More
I believe that most people are afraid of looking one another in the eye and allowing themselves to see just another human being--frightened, angry, grief-stricken, beautiful--just like themselves.
Can we change the world?
Definitely
More about me
I'm passionate about human rights and environmental issues, and do whatever I can to lead my life accordingly. I drive an old truck converted to 100% electric power, heat my domestic water with solar power, have intense vegetable gardens entirely covering my front and back yards and--among other things--teach people in my community how to grow their own food. I am of Jewish heritage--family members perished in the holocaust--and I am outraged and in grief about Israel's atrocities in Gaza. I have two sons, and have always encouraged them to speak out against injustice. I am so grateful to have found this site where peace-seekers from around the world can communicate with and educate each other.

Hi Joanna,
Sorry I didn't reply sooner to your post. I don't visit here that often and I've never really seen the posts before. Thanks for writing.
Judy
I am so grieved to read your message about your stay in Gaza. To read this report from you whose parents went through the holocaust make me believe what my two friends and colleagues from France told me ten years ago. The Israeli government, i.e. the politicians are to be blamed for the status quo there. How can the children and the youngsters think and believe that there will ever live and grow up in Peace when the state of affairs never ceases. Our brother brother and friend David Califa and the other Israeli members of this network should tell us how to stop this. It is so alarming to visualise when the new Israeli government with the extremists come into power. I am so sad....
Have a nice day and weekend in Canada. Shalom and kindest regards.
