More: Religion is a close second, regardless of your beliefs however, if we all could concentrate on loving each other as we do ourselves, it would eliminate the constant competition this world has conformed to. People have come to measure their success based on materialistic and tangible possessions. America in general has this drive for immediate gratification, here and now is better than perseverance, dedication, and loyalty to personal beliefs. The general population is their trading core values and beliefs to get ahead and reach what modern day society is deeming "important". It's not having what you want, it is wanting what you have....
