When it comes to peace, how would you describe yourself?
I feel the pain in the world
What do you believe are the 'burning issues' today?
War, Hunger, Poverty, Education, Our Planet, Violence, Inflation, Human Rights
What must we overcome to achieve peace?
Other
More
- Disunity.
- Governments focusing only on national sovereignty, and the perceived good of one's nation, at the expense of the common good for all of humanity.
- Once shorn of superstitions and outward appearances, the essence behind all Divine religions is one and the same.

"A new life is, in this age, stirring within all the peoples of the earth; and yet none hath discovered its cause or perceived its motive."

"O well-beloved ones! The tabernacle of unity hath been raised; regard ye not one another as strangers. Ye are the fruits of one tree and the leaves of one branch."

~Baha'u'llah

"What profit is there in agreeing that universal friendship is good, and talking of the solidarity of the human race as a grand ideal? Unless these thoughts are translated into the world of action, they are useless.

The wrong in the world continues to exist just because people talk only of their ideals, and do not strive to put them into practice. If actions took the place of words, the world's misery would very soon be changed into comfort.

A man who does great good, and talks not of it, is on the way to perfection.

The man who has accomplished a small good and magnifies it in his speech is worth very little."

~ Abdu’l-Baha
Can we change the world?
Definitely

Dear Nadim,
My day job... Well, my day job for nearly three years has been working with environmental technologies. It is not paying the bills at the moment, however, it should be soon if I can survive the now. Other than that I have worked in IT a bit and consulted on a number of projects, building companies from the ground up and raising money. Before that I worked in construction, many different projects from large estates to small homes.
What kind of work are you going to try to find in the UK? Do you have a work visa? I lived in England and found it hard to get a work visa. They made me leave the country and my fiancee and 5 month old boy... It was awful. Even if we had been married straight away, they said I would have to leave and apply from outside the country. That situation nearly ruined my life forever... I left as ordered by the Home office and after only a couple months my fiancee' had already met someone else. (she was very weak and changable) needless to say, I was devestated and nearly did not recover. If I ever truly did. :-) Wow, oversharing there...
My point, if there had to be one, is, please be certain that you have your work visa set before going there! If not, I can get you on a fishing boat in Southwest England, if you can work on a boat. :-) Hope that you have a great New Year and that your path opens up before you, wherever you go.
Peace and Unity! Robert

Hi Nadim,

I don't live in London myself, but I think in general it's cold and wet.. which is not too unsual here :) That being said, London probably has it quite mild compared to some parts of the country!

Have a safe trip over..

Thank you, Nadim, for your friendship and for the hints, you gave me with the mail. Maybe you can sometimes send little quotations born out of the Baha'i spirit as a comment to my page. Most I love those wisdoms, that are expressed in a single sentence or in just a few sentences, for example:
Silence is the mother of truth. (Benjamin Disraeli)
Love... it surrounds every being and extends slowly to embrace all that shall be. (Khalil Gibran)
Do you like the words of Rumi? It seems, that this great Persian mystic is discovered newly all over the world.
In my opinion, mystic is a very healthful way out of the conflicts caused by religious fundamentalists.
Sunny greetings from Cologne, Sabine
