Everyone still has a chance to vote for Change

Posted on January 6, 2009 at 9:00pm 1 Comment

On another network called Change.org, there is currently a vote going on to choose the Top 10 Ideas for Change which will be presented to President-elect Obama before his inauguration. The ideas have been narrowed to 30 semi-final ideas and votes are being accepted until January 15. Anyone who registers on Change can vote, not just Americans. [btw: this site started way before the "Change" catchphrase hit the election circuit too- they mean it]

One of the ideas proposes a Department of… Continue

Words should not be the weapons that they are

I have been exploring iPeace, 'meeting' people, reading blogs, joining groups and I see a lot of good happening here. It has raised my spirits to see the peace movement joining virtually and globally like this. It has also added more purpose to my new year. But, I am also seeing some disturbing comments and posts popping up, where it seems like the world's wars are being waged in words. They can hurt mighty bad, like swords, you know. I was struck by a comment left on my first post and followed… Continue

Let Peace Begin With Me

copy of today's post from my blog "writer's flow"

I was very happy to find the iPeace site this week, especially because I was in time to participate in their first “iPeace Day”. There are some physical gatherings occuring around the world and a lot of virtual events happening too. I could say a lot about the idea of peace, though I believe that most people already get it, or refuse to try to get it. I have been contemplating what to… Continue

I recall the perfume of flowers forgotten
That infused my heart with fiery passion
Wafting aloft and all over
Mirrored in all intuition

Fear for myself no more echoed
As I soar high over abyss
Burning my fire I have not lost
For I have not misplaced your kiss

As I inhale the scent of flowers in bloom
Thoughts creative stay in motion
Compassionate universal
Kind in oceans of perception

And sunlight warms all directions
United in common continuum
We must nurture our creations
For we are here to love freedom
