War, Hunger, Poverty, Education, Violence

Prejudice
Can we change the world?
Definitely
More about me
We are one piece in this great puzzled called Universe. Each one unique and intertwined with one another, as the pieces of a domino game. What one does, or doesn't do; will inadvertently affect the rest. Its up to us to decide what kind of footprints we want to leave behind. Its our far most important legacy.
Promise to respect others and refrain from spamming?
Yes

HH THE DALAI LAMA:
Peace, in the sense of the absence of war, is of little value to someone who is dying of hunger or cold. It will not remove the pain of torture inflicted on a prisoner of conscience. It does not comfort those who have lost their loved ones in floods caused by senseless deforestation in a neighboring country. Peace can only last where human rights are respected, where the people are fed, and where individuals and nations are free.

Recently I've read a small, beautiful novel. The bitter-sweet story of a young woman who is struggling all her life to find solace, inner peace seemed to jumped out of the pages. When she was a young child while playing with her little friends by the banks of a river on a sunny summer afternoon a little one slipped down the river and the wind whispered: Good bye. 18 years later, the character of this book still struggles with guilty feelings until some sudden events begin to heal her… Continue

May those ideas become contagious as a virus and get spread around and about. May this new year, be the beginning of many good things to come.

Friendship Is Like A Flower

by Regina

Friendship is like a flower,

Glowing in its glory,

Each and every seed,

Telling its own story.

So I picked this flower,

And pulled it apart,

And soon all its pieces,

Grew into my heart.

THE PASSING OF A LOVED ONE...

Mind and heart don't always agree to work together in an unison purpose to provide balance to the soul. It simple doesn't work that way. Instead, they pull apart in separate directions, contradicting each other. And there you are, perfectly still in the middle, listening to both arguments, contemplating your options. The sensible YOU agrees infinitively with your noble heart while conscious and mind are screaming in warning signs.

I can count many logical reasons, all in a perfect,… Continue

ATTITUDE

This morning, I woke up to a sad news: a 27 year old girl was killed by an avalanche while skiing in bound near by home town. There she was, following all the rules,an expert skiing who has been doing it since age five; doing what she loved to do most in life: skiing, yet, in one split second, she was gone. It gave me something to think about: For once, life is short and we most live each and every day as if it were our last day upon this planet. But, most of all, I am making a conscious… Continue

For those living in the US... I hope you had a great Independence Day!!
The forecast around my area was cloudy, stormy with thunder showers. It turned out to be a beautiful, sunny day. I spent it with family and friends canoeing down the river, a picnic at the park and then watched the fireworks. Spectacular 4th of July :))

Hiya PC,

Good to hear from you. How are the young'ins and hubby and animals?

It has been really cool here... Three weeks ago we were in the 100's now it has not gotten above 85 for over a week, with a week still to go until we finally get into the 90's again. Crazy...

Last night my neighbors put on a slide-show/potluck. It was really fun. The slides were really good, some of them were absolutely unbelievable! Some from Tanzunia and Belize and some from the Midwest somewhere on a river.

The slides were shown up on the side of there garage, with Mount San Jacinto in the background. It was so surreal and wonderful! Like a scene from Northern Exsposure.

I live in a little Village and it is querky and cool, very many types of people live here and have lived here.

All the very best to you and your loved ones my friend! :-)

Hi Patty,

Hope you are well! I am thinking of heading to Fort Collins in the next couple of months, I really like it there. I was in Cheyenne (an hour away) a few times this last summer and visited Fort Collins more than once. Nice little college town near the mountains.

Where are you in the Rockies?

Hope that you are doing well with your career changes, you said something about being a paralegal...?

All the best to you my friend!

Hugs,

Robert
