Featuring the late Dr. Ewert H. Cousins who helped to coordinate the 1975 Temple of Understanding Spiritual Summit Conference at the United Nations. Cousins served as Advisor to the United Nations on issues related to global spirituality, and also was Advisor to the Vatican Interreligious Dialogue Council for many years. He was the Editor-In-Chief of the 25 Volume Encyclopedia of the World's Religious Quest, and also the Classics of Western Spirituality. Cousins taught at Columbia University and also Fordham University—he authored many articles on topics related to interfaith and interreligious dialogue. His special field was Medieval Christian Mysticism, with a focus on the lives of St. Francis of Assisi, Meister Eckhart, and St. Ignatius. From the Coincidentia Oppositurum to the Mysterium Coniunctionis, Cousins devoted his life to the exploration of spirituality and building a culture of peace on earth.
