Exhibition at the switch room gallery, Belfast. Sensor based, Interactive video art. This piece explores the subconscious and the psychology of intolerance. It challenges the blind acceptance of established norms and classical conditioning in society. Often we react like preprogrammed robots to external stimuli without thought to the individual in fornt of us. The projection of aggression onto a harmless, blank, mannequin simulates the mental process of projection. If society can learn to identify such responses in their own lives, examine their everyday reactions to people or establishments, perhaps we can choose to react in a more creative way, treating people as individuals regardless of race or creed.
