A journey through the realm of the senses. Amazing, still after all these years - there's a lot of meaning to these teachings. I first got curious after John Lennon's metphoric prose of Tomorrow Never Knows off the Beatles Revolver album from 1966-The impact did hit a very vibrant note in the western world after that, chain reacting various directions in form of art, etc...
A good film to go by and learn the goal...being the way. Important, sublime, to be judged by the individual, like an open book.//-Thanxxx . . .

Thank you, David, for presenting, and Renee for giving the hint to this great film here. Now I don't have the time, but on Chrismas, I will see the whole film together with some friends.
There are two books I can recommend for those who want to get deeper into this theme or into their own mind and heart:
- Sogyal Rinpoche: 'The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying.' With a foreword of the Dalai Lama. Sogyal Rinpoche comes out of the Tibetan Culture but has studied in the West. He is a great spiritual teacher for people with a typical western mind as he knows our way of thinking and our vocabulary. When he came to Cologne several times, hundreds of people came to listen to him.
- Stephen Levine: 'Healing into life and death.' For decades, Stephen Levine has been accompanying people during severe crisis or people expecting death very soon. He worked together with Ram Dass (he speaks in the film) and is a very close friend of him. They also worked together with E. Kübler Ross. Through all the experiences he collected during so many years with so many people, he gained a totally new insight into HEALING. Most important for suffering people is to come in a real deep contact with themselves. That, of course, is the most important thing for all of us. There are a lot of meditations in the book, that can help us to get compassion with ourselves and to get the courage, to look to the things, that are not solved within our lives. We get a lot of hints, how we can make PEACE within us, with the people around us and with life in general.
Another book, Stephen Levine has written together with his second wife ONDREA: 'Embracing the Beloved. Relationship as a Path of Awakening.' This really is a PEACE-Book, concerning everykind of relationship, as well within our families and as well the relationship we have with ourselves.

1 John 1:9 If we confess or sins Gos is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. By the Grace of God through the love of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior who died for our sins and took the curse of death upon himself and paid the price for our sins, we are free from the curse of death and free from the burden of guilt and shame as it is lifted from our lives. We can live a life free to love and find happiness even in suffering. It is the our selfishness and the selfishness of others and the fear of losing what we have or not getting what we want that brings the pain of sufferung, but faith by hope promises everlasting life free from suffering. This is Western thinking and not a hopeless philosophy, as it is protrayed in this film, especially as one nears death.
