It gave me hope that one day you would speak just as accurately about the cycle of extreme violence and how it can be broken. Will you? When you speak of America's "evil enemies", how come there is no mention of their children? Their children (like their parents) were born into a cycle of fear, leading to hatred, which leads to the sickness often labeled as "evil". How do we break this vicious cycle? How do we reach the children of violent extremists? How do we teach them a new way? If more effort was made to CATCH violent extremists rather than kill them, then wouldn't it set a better example for their (our, all) children? Although force may be necessary in certain situations, how much potential is there to constructively use high tech non-lethal weaponry, rather than lethal force? How much potential is there to educate children and show them examples of former combatants who were able to break the cycle of extreme violence? If more money were spent on providing peace education, rather than building more bombs, then wouldn't we be doing more to break the cycle? If more were done to relieve people of extreme poverty, then wouldn't there be less of the fear and desperation that leads to extreme violence?

Mr. President, millions of peacemakers will continue to study and explore humanity's great potential to evolve beyond the cycle of war. Will you join us?

Sincerely,

Yaron Fishman
MyPeace.TV
Founder Moe Hnin Phyu from Burma Democratic Concern (BDC) to Mr Barack Obama tag:ipeace.us,2009-03-01:2217368:Video:1278990 2009-03-01T06:10:40.778Z Myo Thein https://ipeace.us/profile/MyoThein

You also remind me of your birthday whished for Aung San Suu Kyi on her 63rd birthday. You said that If the junta continues its failure to protect the dignity, health and well-being of the Burmese people, the international community must be prepared to work harder toward effective coordinated action, including but not limited to action through the United Nations Security Council. This is very encouraging for us as we have been under military dictatorship in Burma for nearly half the century and we are longing for change.
Mr Obama, I believe that this is the time to translate words into actions and I would like to request you to take practical action on Burma to help free Burmese people.
Mr Obama, I also would like you to aware that Burma crisis is in very critical situation. Military junta is planning to hold elections in 2010 without honouring 1990 elections results. Burmese people have already voted for Aung San Suu Kyi as their leader in 1990 elections. Regime still ignores to honour it and placed Aung San Suu Kyi under house arrest.
