"The Dawning of Our Possibility"

I am so Joyous today..For I am being flooded
with a range of possibilities..Which are gently
overwhelming my Spirit and My Soul..Every
precious thing and everyone..Is now so newly
alive within me..Awakening powerful thoughts
of what we can begin to dream and achieve..

If we will just allow ourselves to become great
enough..To expand to absorb and meet..These
new energies being released..That can soon
fulfill..Our immense capacities to change this
world..Of ours even more..If we just become
brave enough to work together..Willing to tear
down the inner fences that separate us..By
nation wealth class race tribe..Our corruptible
ideologies..and instead start today to really
invest in..What we truly say we do believe..

Now so gently place your hand over your heart..
For each beat is another possibility escaped..To
do and show each of Us Our inner greatness..For
I want the Power of my words..To awaken inside
you the Amazing..Arouse in you the Magnificent..
Explore beside you the Infinite..Touch and unleash
within you the Possible..Help free and set loose
the Unimaginable..Stimulate your Inner and Outer
Spiritual Awareness..Until you begin to see..All
that you and I can aspire to be..Then perhaps you
too will be able to better see..All we each need to
yet be..

For when you and I shall choose to stand together..
Side by side and become united in Our Hope for
a better World to emerge from us as One..When
we finally realize this possibility..Of all the Greatest
possibilities is now within Our grasp..Anything we
set our Hearts Souls and Minds too..As a Global
Human Family..Is Our Gift to Our new generations..
Yet to come..

For there are many new challenges we must begin
to soon face..If only we can begin to teach each..one
person..We are nearest to this simple lesson..of Love
We have always been able..When we decide to share..
Our Mercy Compassion and Our Grace..Maybe then
we can all learn to live happily..In this same time and
space..

If we do not start to embrace this message today
When can we ever truly begin ? For our Time here on
this planet is so very brief..We each must soon decide..
What kind of footprints..We all shall desire to soon
leave behind my friends..

Footprints left in sand shall soon wash immediately
away..Footprints purchased by wealth..without Truth
No one will ever hear what they have to say..For I
want mine not of platinum nor gold..But to be like a
humble bit of coal..To be changed by the pressures
of My Wisdom..Acquired in this life..To become the
greatest and most brilliant..diamond..Always radiating
this Precious Jewel of Peace and Possibility..Now
so truly alive..And breathing in My Heart My Mind and
My Soul..

Below is a `copy and paste` of some relative information about this unforgettable man of music - Sam Cooke.

***Some of the greatest advancements in modern music are credited to an artist who died over 40 years ago, yet only lived to be 33. Now his dynamic achievements are remembered in his most intimate biography to date, "Our Uncle Sam: The Sam Cooke Story From His Family's Perspective"

After six years as the reigning voice in gospel music, Cooke burst onto the pop scene with the 1957 release of his million-selling single, You Send Me. The song's innovative blend of Gospel, Pop, and R&B earned him the title of "The Man Who Invented Soul" and stayed on the charts an amazing 26 weeks, rising to #1 in both the Pop and R&B markets. The next single he'd release, I'll Come Running Back to You, soared to #1 on the R&B charts as well. Cooke would eventually chart an amazing 34 Top 40 R&B hits over his eight year pop career, with most like You Send Me and I'll Come Running Back to You written by Sam himself. Cooke also wrote and recorded such classics as Chain Gang, Only Sixteen, Cupid, Wonderful World, Having a Party and A Change is Gonna Come, and was among the original inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

xBlackOrchid..."its been too hard living, but Im afraid to die, i dont know whats out there beyond the sky..its been a long time coming...but i know a changes gone come.....

It was what my daddy listened to and sang all over the place, I have the 45 of "a change is gonna come", when I listen to it..I kinda get the feeling of desperation folk felt during the civil rights movement, the words tell the story, but the music is very haunting which i guess has always stayed in my mind.,Its like hes so tired, tired of all the wrong, but he doesn’t want to die to make it better, which is kinda ironic, cause he did die before it got better..
I learned how to "swing"off "Having a party"..lol..daddy would just throw me all over the place till i was old enough to hang..lol Did you know that "Chain Gang" was about folks working on prison chain gangs in the south?? and the rhythm for that song is the sound of hammering as the laid rail roads etc..i thought that was interesting...but its always the song "Summertime" that brings back the fondest memories, that was my sleepy time song<s>..and I didnt realize till recently that was a song from "Porgy and Bess"..any Sam Cooke song reminds me of my father and he had a major influence on me

In my opinion if Sam Cooke had lived we would have seen him perform at the Monterey Pop festival in 1967 and NOT Otis Redding. Sam would have ELECTRIFIED the "love crowd" (as Otis put it) whith his blend of soul + gospel + pop/rock (with a message!) and become seen a a leader of a whole musical/cultural movement that would have brought people closer together.***

"A Change is Gonna Come" Lyrics

I was born by the river in a little tent
Oh and just like the river I've been running ever since
It's been a log, a long time coming
But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will

It's been too hard living but I'm afraid to die
'Cause I don't know what's up there beyond the sky
It's been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will

I go to the movie and I go downtown
Somebody keep telling me, "Don't hang around"
It's been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will

Then I go to my brother
And I say "Brother, help me please"
But he winds up knockin' me
Back down on my knees

Oh there's been times that Ithought I couldn't last for long
But now I think I'm able to carry on
It's been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will.

...I loved this song the very minute I heard it - and ironically enough, before I knew the history and background
behind it, it was being played quite often from about half way through last year - on the radio (in Australia),
we were all aware of the up-coming elections over in the U.S.A. and all I can say now,
is that my prayers were answered when Mr Obama won the election and become
The President of the United States of America in early 2009.

So, here we have the `change` - the change that has come now,
and I know Sam is happy.
It so refreshing to see and feel the awakening Light and resonance of Mr. "Smooth" Sam Cooke..There are only a few songs that measure up to being what I categorize as Bencmark epochal events..Sam Cooke's immorrtality is all but assured..For as long as people will continue to listen to and love His Music..No matter who you are or where you are from..I doubt anyone with a caring Heart could not be affected forever by just one listen to .."A Change is gonna come"

It was a song so far ahead of its time that it literally changed a whole genration of people's hearts..I remember as a child watching some very tough hard strong willed people..Men an Women literally break down and cry..When they first heard this song being played over and over..for many times..Mr. Sam Cooke changed me and affected an America drunk and intoxicated with racism and racial hate..That truly did not want to change..

But His powerful words inner eloquence dignity and lyrical purpose still to this day resonate anew ever so powerfully..With the brilliant Light of Prophetic validation even among the youth of today..Still affecting all those profoundly who are still blessed to hear it for the very first time...

It is and always shall be a song sung so very wellsuite as an Anthem for the ages...Thank you Ozzie for the poignant reminder and memories..
