The Beatles were an English rock and pop group formed in Liverpool in 1960. They became one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed bands in the history of popular music. During their years of stardom, the group consisted of John Lennon (rhythm guitar, vocals), Paul McCartney (bass guitar, vocals), George Harrison (lead guitar, vocals) and Ringo Starr (drums, vocals). Although their initial musical style was rooted in 1950s rock and roll and skiffle, the group worked with different musical genres, ranging from Tin Pan Alley to psychedelic rock. Their clothes, style and statements made them trend-setters, while their growing social awareness saw their influence extend into the social and cultural revolutions of the 1960s towards Peace.
You can call me whatever you choose my friend.... I've been called plenty of things, some nice, some not so nice!!!!!!!!
Your not alone on that one F.F., I can tell ya.....The worst is being called early in the morning, BOOM-BOOM !

Hope you don't mind...I've included here a posting I sent to another Group, 'Unforgetable Music and Song' ........I'm not tryin' to 'muscle in', it's just that any music site has me hooked....Only thing is, there's some text with it......"Sorry" (You'll see why when you read !)........................

Gunilla, what a Group!....I am so very glad it's here on this wonderful site. What a marvellous idea of yours.....I shall be posting pieces of music that are a huge part of certain times and areas of my life...I shall not be delivering these in any order, mainly it'll be random postings, as trying to do this in a chronological way is too much of a strain on my feeble and limited mind!!!.....Although, it must be said, as I was thinking of the tracks and tunes, each of these lent itself to forward memories from the distant past IN a loose order....This is my 1st...I remember the release in October '62 (although The Beatles had made one other 45 earlier in the year, "My Bonnie", and another, which has only ONE copy, made in Paul's living room on a Grundig reel-to-reel tape recorder. This was transfered to the one single (both sides being Buddy Holly numbers) that was owned by one of the Quarrymen, John's first group and where he met Paul in June '57 and then P. M. introduced George to John and, as I said they made this record with a Quarryman (name, as I write, escapes me ) playing the upright piano that so many livingrooms had in those days (another story surrounds that, by the way!)...HE kept the single, and a year ago sold it to Paul (more to that one, too!).That record was 'cut' in 1957, and so can, without any argument, be the FIRST Beatles' record...I had NEVER heard anything like the track I'm sending before! Those of a certain age, and British (no offence meant here. It's just that the Beatles, of course hit us first and so the impact seems greater...This is probably total hogwash and it meant the same to the rest of the World when they listened but it's just that it was here !st....As I say, total hogwash!)........Now after that over-long diatribe....And with my wishes of Peace, Love, Warmth and Happiness to you all, and thank you, again, Gunilla, for this Group....The record....

................And this.............................I'll go now...But will be back....................................

My 2nd one....We are now in 1963 and I was 12years old........This record blew me apart, it is impossible for people to understand that one had heard nothing like it before....and the "OOOOOOhh!" in the chorus was in the newspapers for weeks...Yes weeks!,it was used in cartoons, headlines, everywhere, and the "Yeh, Yeh, Yeh's" had even more of an impact.........it really is not, in the 21st Century, possible to explain the impact this record had on so many different levels.......It's one of my top 3 of all time. The 1st:-Strawberry Feilds Forever.the 2nd:- Good Vibrations and last but by no means least....She Loves You (Peter Sellers made a talking track of this as an old Cockney Londoner talking to his friend and, guess what?...It works!!)....Byebye for now......

P.s.....Oh !, and "Hello", Leah, fancy meetin' you here, haha !.......WOW !..and you, Joni, fab...and you've done it again, Babe, 'Hey Jude' !...I just don't believe you....Fab, again.x
Your not muscling in at all :)

Great old youtube finds Percy, brilliant recordings.

Thank you for posting them here and a big thank you for the guys who post on youtube.
Sorry for not replying before, this somehow escaped me! I love this song joni and have never seen that recording before, thank you for posting it :)

This is sung in a Somerset accent. The West Country accent starts at Hampshire and takes in Bristol and goes all the way to Lands Ends getting stronger the further west you go.
As does the cider, F.F..............................!!
LOL :D
I know it seems to be very hard to find nowadays agrace, I'm sure it's there somewhere... but I can't think of any off hand, not new artist, just some of the old ones that are still going! I'd have to go back quite a few years to find it in abundance of them.

This is a Cockney song sung in a Cockney (London) accent

Some more Chas 'n' Dave. My Grandad is a Cockney, he was born within the sound of Bow Bells.

Scaffold are Liverpool group and they sing with a Liverpool accent
