Thank you so much for joining FRIENDS FOR FRIENDS Greg. I hope that it has helped to launch your son's video "We Want Peace!" *smile* I believe in supporting our passionate young people in their Projects for Peace! I wish him success in all his endeavors. Namase! --Christie
Hi Greg
I just noticed your were a featured supporter here and in the UK
I hope you don't regard what I am writing below as spamming! I assure you Jo Berry is the real thing!!!
----------------------------------------
On the 18th of this month an event is happening in the UK I would love you to know about and tell your friends about!
One of our Women for a Change supporters, Jo Berry, is holding an event to launch her charity Building Bridges for Peace.
She is an amazing woman, who started on a road to peace 25 years ago when her father was killed by an IRA Terrorist Bomb in the UK.
Over the last years she did many things, the most prominent of which was to befriend the IRA bomber, Pat Magee who committed the crime and was jailed for life.
Ever since he was released from jail under the Good Friday Peace Treaty, she and he have travelled talking about Peace and Reconcliation and are quite well known.
Jo herself is a very shy woman and publicity is the least of her strong points (!). She spends most of her time home-schooling her children.
However she is passionate about peace and her work with Pat really touches people's hearts in a big way. She is involved with many peace-organisations and also worked with the 9/11 survivor
--------------------
Anyway Jo is holding the launch of her charity in Brighton in the UK on the 18th this month.
She and Pat will be also holding a discussion.
The event starts with the screening of the film 'Soldiers of Peace' (have you seen it?)
I am helping her because she has become a close friend and also because I am involved in helping events which support the World Peace March...
So if there is anyway you could help it would be wonderful. Jo doesn't have a publicity team or anything like that she works with so she really works on word of mouth a lot of the time!
There is also a video of Jo and myself talking on youtube
Best of all if you are in Brighton on the day - it woudl be lovely to meet you. Myself and a few of our UK Women for a Change supporters will be there too.
