I plucked up the courage and started a group to discuss the nature of love in action.

I went through a fairly serious illness recently and lots of friends were praying about the outcome. Everything went well and I seem to have made a good recovery. But the point I need to make is that for the prayers to be effective it was essential to have a good surgeon at the "cutting edge".

In the same way, praying for the healing of a sick world needs to be followed up by appropriate inspired action.

God's Kingdom (and it will not be an exclusively Christian, Buddhist, Islamic, Judaic, or whatever, Kingdom) can not manifest without human beings doing the right practical building work.

I have been unable, so far, to formulate a positive characterisation of the Kingdom-like state of the earth (also known as the possible good world in non-religious circles). Any help would be appreciated with that.
For now, I see the Kingdom on Earth as the world with no wars, no poverty, no oppression, no exploitation, no avoidable suffering.

Ushering in this world implies intensely practical expressions of love. However, if we do that work together backed by prayer groups, miracles can speed up and ease the work of transformation.

An example of what I mean by “intensely practical expressions of love” I offer for consideration an aspect of love which is (directly relating to homelessness and poverty), “…Not taking as private property the value of part of the earth (land, for example), which is generated by the need of other people to have a living space.”

My experience is that most people do not know what I am talking about when broaching these kinds of things. So I will finish this entry with a web address as one of the gates through which the details of that particular aspect of love can be visited: http://www.progress.org/geonomy/

I red in the the reminder about keeping ones group going by contributing to it. It is difficult without the stimulus of contribution from others. But thinking about writing something must surely have some effect on the inner planes. I find the expression, "paying attention" quite spiritual.

Attention is a form of energy. Maybe that is one of the points about posting just a beautiful picture and a reminder that someone is "thinking of you".
-------------------------------------------

Let us (including me) thank those who are active in helping the homeless in whatever way they can.
Thanks also to those who dream about a world where the earth and its abundance is shared with justly among all brothers and sisters and no one need to go without adequate shelter and security of person.
And thanks to those who have the practical knowledge and competence to propose viable ways of making such a dream a reality.
Thanks to the enlightened politicians who attempt to put those proposals into the form of policy instruments.
