Halloween, or "All Hallows Eve" and All Saints Day on November 1 is really a time to remember those who have gone before us. Today I am thankful and pay homage for the lives of some beautiful people in the public eye who have left us this year:
I am Thankful to Sir Edmund Hillary, for his courage to climb Mt Everest and his humanitarian work with the Sherpas.
I am thankful to Heath Ledger, who left us just as he was starting flight, for
Brokeback Mountain.
I am thankful to Bo Diddley, for his ground-breaking work in transitioning from blues to rock-n-roll and the wonderful musical legacy he left to us.
I am thankful to Roy Scheider, for Sherriff Brody in
Jaws
I thank Tim Russert, for making politics easier to understand, and for his great personality
Thanks to Charlton Heston, for
Ben Hur and the
Ten Commandments and
Planet of the Apes
I fondly remember George Carlin, for his famous “list”, and for his hilarious facial expressions
I thank and honour Paul Newman, for those beautiful blue eyes, for all his wonderful films, for the Scott Newman Center and his humanitarian work with “Newman’s Own” foods.
