A MUM-of-three is aiming to get the people of North Lincolnshire super-fit, after becoming the first person in the region to qualify as an instructor in an American-style work-out programme called Insanity.

Frances Hagan, 52, has started her weekly classes at St Lawrence Academy in Doncaster Road, Scunthorpe, at 6.30pm every Wednesday and has been delighted with the response so far.

Mrs Hagan, who also does toning classes in the town, said: "Insanity is a workout regime developed by American fitness trainer Shaun Thompson.

"Insanity's high-intensity activity forces the body to work for longer periods of time at a higher capacity than old-school work-outs.

"As a result, people experience fast increase in cardiovascular fitness and burn carbohydrates and fat far more efficiently - as much as 1,000 calories per hour.

"The programme aims to promote noticeable results through core strength, as well as intense cardio-training.

"There is no need to purchase weights or any other equipment.

"The Insanity workouts are highly intense and designed for people who are already in good shape."
