How to Get Gwyneth Paltrow's Sleek and Sexy Hair

We've seen many sides of Gwyneth Paltrow: From the '90s hipster to the girly Oscar winner to the GOOP-y homemaker and mother-of-two, Gwynnie has gone through countless style transformations. But one thing that's remained constant over the years is her signature long, straight, blonde hair (minus that short, yet memorable stint with a pixie back in the Brad Pitt years). Her look is easy and classic and works just as well on the red carpet as it might shopping at the (organic) grocery store.

This morning, Paltrow gave us a glimpse into how she achieves that perfect 'do, posting an Instagram of herself getting her hair done by stylist David Babaii. We reached out to Babaii, who was just named North American brand ambassador for the luxury hairstyling brand ghd, to tell us how we can get her effortless-looking hair at home.

Babaii has been doing Paltrow's hair for 12 years and considers her a dear friend: She even helped him when he decided to get on the healthy track and change his diet and exercise routine. "She helped me lose 135 pounds with working out, what I should eat, and how to deal with it without it making me feel bad," Babaii told us. "She has the soul of an angel and such a cool style—a style that's her own, killer legs, and a killer smile."

And killer hair, thanks to Babaii. It turns out this is not a #wokeuplikethis situation. "She has very thick, curly hair that we transform to a look that is soft, healthy, smooth, and effortless," he told us. "The trick to recreating Gwen's style at home is using all of the right tools. It's the tools that make the look, not the product."

Here's how to get her look:

-Start with clean, wet hair and blow dry using the ghd Air. "It will dry your hair two times faster and lock in moisture leaving it soft and shiny."

-You don't need to focus too much on the style while blow drying because that'll come in the last step. Instead, use a medium round bristle brush to help smooth the hair while you get all the moisture out of your strands. It is important to use a brush that will do most of the work for you—Babaii recommends ghd's Natural Bristle Radial Brush Size 3.

-Once your hair is completely dry, section it in 1" to 1.5" sections and pass the Eclipse styler through it, root to tip, only one or two times.

-After you've gone through all your hair, part it in the middle or the deep side. And voilà, Paltrow-approved locks with a glossy finish, no products necessary.
