everybody hates hamas. hamas dragged israel to this fight by deciding to fire rockets on its inhabitants. israel says that no other country in the world would accept it, & therefor israel should be appreciated because it was very toleranted during the 8 years of this phenomenon whilst any other country would have react very aggressively in a similar case. isn't it true?
so - hamas drove israel to fight. hamas is to blame on the situation that is now going on in gaza - a terrible situation in which so many civilians find their death & suffering. hamas actually declared just few days before the israeli attack that it won't accept further cease fire with israel, & escalated the # of rockets on it.
again - hamas is to blame that after the israeli attack started, & until now, is not surrendering in order to stop the israeli operation & save his people from that disaster.
so - that is the israeli point of view.
some of the israelis are claiming that actually israel provoketed a lot, & suffocated the gaza strip in a way that hamas had to fight back. i'm not convinced. especially that i also know of many claims that hamas itself didn't take care for the civilians in the gaza strip. anyhow - firing rockets on civilians is not acceptable, & hamas has been doing that for 8 years now.
israel doesn't have so many deads or injured or damage of those rockets. the rockets are not accurate, & are not capable of great damage, & israelis have alarms, & are running away for sanctuary in those 15 seconds (for the closest settlements, who suffered most of those attacks over the years). but still - thousents of rockets that had been fired by hamas did killed, injured, & done damage that can not be overlooked. also the way people are living in those settlments have to be taken in account - this is not a way to live a normal life - this is to live under constant terror, & that is the justification for this operation from the israeli point of view, & israel feels that no other country in the world would have reacted to this kind of behaviour of the hamas more gently.

israelis also have to wonder if hamas/palestinians don't care for human life - starting with the fact that they fire on civilians, continuing with the lake of alarms, suicide boomers, using kids as human shield & in general - the willing to die in great numbers in this fight. yes - i know - one have to accuse who kills - not who defends itself - but still - where is the self responsibility? why aren't they keen on stop the fighting? what israel is demanding? - stop of the firing & stop of entering aggressive weapon into gaza - what's wrong with that?

well - if you thought i think good of the israeli government you are wrong:
despite the assumption that other countries would have reacted more aggressively in this kind of situation, i still find that israeli operation is terrible. i would need a proof for israeli claim that unnecessary lives were not taken. that is - in the rules of war.. - of cause - personally i would find it hard to be convinced that most of the killing, if not all, was necessary... same goes for the distruction. i also don't believe that israel could not avoided going into this fight in the 1st place, though it is maybe "justified".
the thing is that even if this operation is righteous, i still think it is disastrous - it is bringing much of distraction not only to gaza, but also to isarel - a war has a price. big price. further more - this operation is generating much hate towards israel, & again - i doubt if in the long run it would even the balance in favor of what israel is wishing to achieve which is mainly an image that should serve its security, as far as i can see.
furthermore - i'm not trusting our leaders that are moral, & have deep human care for civilians. i spoke above of the alarms, but i think israel could have developed by now smart technological solutions for the missiles treat. maybe i'm not aware of obscure military facts, but it doesn't smell good., & anyhow - it is just one small example - i think it can be seen, or at least - be suspected, in much of israeli actions. in other words - i'm very angry with my government. i will tell more probably in the future...

anyhow - what has been done can not be undone. what is important now is to achieve cease fire asap. i hope it will happen - there are some signs that it may occur. then we'll have a difficult process to go under in order to achieve peace. i really hope we'll make it. blame can be put on both sides, but we should all support peace at the end of the day. in the meantime we can mainly hope that our leaders would choose rightly, but we should think rightly, & demand it from them, & influence them to go in the right path, & of course - make peace ourselves.
