Lord ... Help me to tell the truth in front of the strong and not tell lies to win the applause of the weak. If you give me fortune, not take away the reason. If you give me success, not take away my humility. If you give me humility, not take away my dignity. Help me to see the other side of the coin. Let me not accuse the other of treason to the others, just not to think like me. Teach me to love others as myself. Do not let it make me proud to triumph, nor fall into despair of failure. But it reminds me that failure is the experience that precedes the triumph. Teach me to forgive is a sign of greatness and that vengeance is a sign of meanness. If not give me the success, give me strength to learn from failure. If I offend people, grant me the courage to apologize, and if people offend me, give me the greatness to forgive them. Sir, if I forget you, never forget me.

Si me das éxito, no quitar mi humildad. Si me das humildad, no quitar mi dignidad.

A great man, a great soul
Mohandas K. Gandhi, the “Great Soul,” . In a world seemingly dominated by violence and hatred, Mahatma Gandhi reincarnated the ancient idea of Ahimsa, non-violence, as the only way of living in peace. His example influenced and inspired many later peaceful struggles, for example the civil rights movement of Martin Luther King, Jr. Despite India’s shortcomings, Gandhi never lost faith in Ahimsa:

I do not want my house to be walled in on all sides and my windows to be stuffed. I want the cultures of all the lands to be blown about my house as freely as possible.

we have been contempararies of this great man, after some years when third and fourth generations only live they may not even believe such a person really lived in body and soul in India. It could be mistaken for a mythical identity of an individual human being! That is his greatness!
