Breaking News! (In The Wake Of Recent Shootings and Violence, Many People Wonder Why.)

In the wake of recent shootings, bombings, and loss of life around the world, many people are asking the same question..."Why? How could anyone take the lives of innocent people,....people they have never even met?"

This wave of global violence is a sign that the human family has reached a major cross road in history, and the choices we make today will determine whether we survive as a species. Our way of life on earth will be changed forever for the worst if we fail to come to know and identify with the true and eternal aspect of who we truly are. We must spread the message of oneness around the world. One Universe, One Earth, and One People.

When I come to know my true and eternal self, I will soon recognize that same eternal aspect of self as it exists in you and vise versa. We will be less likely then to destroy one another in the name of war, or for any other reason.

Yes Mike you are right, ...in truth, we are that unseen universal force of consciousness, (the consciousness of the universe!) The problem we all face on earth today is, we all perceive ourselves only as the physical body..We hardly ever relate to that eternal and powerful aspect of ourselves that reveals our oneness! If we would only focus more on this unseen Micro Self, we could establish an eternal Peace On Earth! Read more information about the Micro Self Here:

Hello James, your point is well taken, thanks. We are all one and the same. We are much, much more than our physical bodies! The essence of our true and eternal selves is Universal Consciousness! We are the consciousness of the eternal universe! As Universal Consciousness, we are eternal! As matter, or our (physical bodies, we are temporary, fleeting beings! We must get to know our universal and eternal selves! That self that reveals our oneness! The Micro Self! Read More About This Eternal Aspect Of Who We Really Are Here:

Cher ami Charlie,
Abdel

Dear friend Charlie,
This is the injustice to hate racism and the ignorance of the other to egotism.
When justice and the sense of being in security in the world where corruption is no longer and when the love of others is shared by all and where there will be more large gap between rich and poor, this time there will be less or more violence in the world, as now there was a shooting in a court in Germany: it really does nothing.
Abdel

Excuses pour la mauvaise traduction.
Apologies for the translation.
Hello Abdel my friend. We have lived our entire lives believing that the only aspect of who we are is Our Physical Bodies. If we really want to put an end to terror, war and violence around the world, we must get to know that aspect of ourselves that is eternal! We are the eternal consciousness of the universe! We Are One Human Consciousness!

While working with at-risk youth in a summer camp, one young man with physical scars shared the following with me after he'd been terribly bullied at school. I had seen this young boy several times over the previous years; he was helpful, compassionate; he had a great sense of humor and sweet personality. But that year he was withdrawn, hardened, and seemed quite angry. As we worked on a project I looked him in the face and asked what happened. As he slammed an object down on the counter he began to cry. Through his tears he said, "Don't they know how much it hurts. They might as well stick a claw in my chest and pull my heart out." He cried for a bit then quietly and sadly said, "It just hurts too much to be sad; it doesn't hurt as much to be mad."

He returned home after camp, later got into some trouble with medications and booze and the law. He is the father of two now and is in his mid-20s. I have not heard from him in 2 years. But after he'd shared his grief that day and what other hurting kids shared with me over the years, and even from my own upbringing, I awoke one night and these words spilled onto paper. I have revised this since first written in 1997, mostly to consolidate or edit though it is still quite long (I apologize for that).

Why...

It seems if one is different from the standards of norm in any way, or you don’t have what it takes; if one has little or no value, beauty, it seems they have no power, no say, yet they are judged, ignored, invalidated, irrelevant, and denied. The imperfect, the struggling, the young and the old try to make it any way they can. The laws seem to be words on paper to be interpreted and loop-holed by the litigators for the benefit of those who can pay.

While the children watch and listen and learn, in-formed.

Lives sadly controlled by so many wants and needs, buying and spending like there is no tomorrow; an addict is never satisfied. Off balance, confused, fighting in the name of the power, the money, the glory all swear is just around the next gambled corner. The medical non-care; religions that fight against one another and among themselves. The poverty, lack of education, or job, home, life, or whatever else can be earned, given or taken just to survive, thrive enjoy being alive here in a land of the free. Where the needy are needed to remain needy for the wealth they bring to those who are helping.

As the children watch and listen and learn, in despair.

Gluttonous in-activities of depression - devouring. Voracious and gorged with insatiable appetites of self-fulfilling desires at all costs. Unable to see past the end of a nose unless it’s into a mirror to gaze at a beautiful shell, or to gloat at triumphs over the unsuspecting and trusting souls taken advantage of. Judging others on every level, yet forgiving one’s self for all that can be gotten away with. Living by competition, where winning is everything; being first no matter what. Compassion, no better than second place.

While the children watch and listen and learn, in parrot.

Beauty and sexuality is seen to hold the value of one’s worth. Brainwashing begun early with barbies, dream houses, cartoon icons, media, games, and examples from all. Strong messages and avenues of help if one does not measure-up or look like what one is supposed to look like. Indebted, freely paying to get nipped, tucked, sucked, plucked, injected, implanted, dissected, plugged, pinched, fried, tied, dyed, painted, tainted, dressed, undressed, crossed, then tossed when everything yet nothing meets the expectations of what a human of beauty is supposed to be.

And the children watch and listen and learn, in mirror.

Success and power is societally gauged to be the necessities to fit the mold of one’s worth, yes, pretty and money opening many doors, yet the real control comes through fear, violence, dominance, starvation. If the perpetrators, the greedy are caught, then begins the blaming and denying, the lying and hiding, the stealing and manipulating, the hurting and maiming of the children, the spouses, the people, and each other.

As the children watch and listen and learn, in horror.

Teaching the children through examples of no self-control, no self-respect, and even less for each other, lies and confusion from so many directions, actions of the hypocrites, in-actions of the caring, the easy successes of those more fortunate, or the unfair abuses for those less fortunate. The lessons of who gets to live and who it doesn't matter if they die, the driving forces, the deceiving sanctimonious standards instilled as they grow and learn. Where can they turn with such fears, such sadness, such anger? Told to trust, but repeatedly shown they can't.

And the children watch and listen and learn, in muse.

The children are crying out loud, acting out their pain; anger giving the strength to endure it all. When it hurts too deep to be sad; does it hurt less to be mad? Are they left to vent against one another, fighting for the misguided values of ingrained examples? Violating each other, and the world who has made them, and those innocently in the path of their pain. Are lives just too busy; isn’t there time? Are they just whipping posts, that no one thinks will mind? And the children react with the crying shame of us all.

While our children watch and listen and learn.
