How to achieve Peace

If we knew the secret recipe, we would have achieved Peace already. World Peace is a long evolutionary process involving a lot of work. We all know Peace starts within the soul. It then can be shared in circles, within our communities.

Some tribes and nations have lived in Peace. It has a lot to do with the education and the sense of values that are taught and transmitted to children. Take the Hopi for instance, whose name means "People of Peace". They have never fought any wars, although they were agressed in the past. They make the carekeeping of Peace their priority. Instead of fighting back an agressor or an invador, they try to teach them and share with them their knowledge about peaceful living.

The elders say the problem is one of leadership. Humankind has been submitted to war mongers and empire builders for too long in most cultures around the globe. Those who lead only have power because we let them lead us. We empower them to take charge and control over our lives and realities. If we were to follow the wise ones, the Peacemakers, the carekeepers of the wisdom and to empower them to lead us, to guide us on the way to a peaceful living, the world would change fast. Instead, a great teacher of non-violence like the Dalai Lama is still a refugee in exile, being even banned from many countries fearing the pressure of the chinese dictatorship. The Native wise elders are not recognized by the States government as the legitimate leaders of their nations, and the Native nations are not even recognized as nations nor represented in the General Assembly of the UN. So meanwhile, the world keeps following the war lords in fear and the people turn out to them for solutions. Political will starts with us, we should not wait after the rulers.

Here is something that Adi Da, The World-Friend, wrote in his book Not-Two IS Peace regarding the right understanding of Peace:

Human beings must accept, with humility, that their rightful position (and that of every one) in the naturally indivisible world-family of Earthkind (including humankind) is not the "ego-place" of prior dis-unity (and, thus, of separateness, separativeness, domination, and control), but the "heart-place" of prior unity (and, thus, of ego-transcending cooperation and tolerance).

It is not the search for peace (for all seeking is, necessarily, based on prior, or presumed, separation from what is being sought), but the active affirmation and enactment of peace (or the presumption of prior, or always already present, unity and non-conflict — as a condition to be always affirmed, depended upon, enacted, and preserved) that is the true and only means for the realization of peace.

Thus, in practical terms, it is only on the active foundation of ego-transcending cooperation and tolerance that it is possible for peace (or right life) to be established among living beings of any form or kind.

Indeed, this Call to Right Life and Peace is a great and absolute moral Law, which I have Epitomized in the Formula C + T = P, or "Cooperation + Tolerance = Peace".

It is absolutely essential that the universal collective of humankind formally embrace and really enact this universal moral disposition."

This is a profound understanding of the inherently sane, egoless, and prior-unity-based process of peace-emergence at heart. May we all live such, in love and compassion to all-and-All, and be living examples of right life and universal service.
