Humanity Synthesized by Music

I will try to post this here as the first attempt on Michael Franti/Spearhead site came up an error, so I do not know if it posted or not.

Music crosses all ages, cultures, races, faiths (or not), and beings. Music shares languages, stories, feelings, pleasures, sorrows...

Throughout history many have united over music in the mist of turmoil, imprisonment, devastation, pain and sorrow, and of course with joy and celebration. The rhythm, the beat, the motion and movement that comes alive in all peoples of the world is a common denominator. From there can we build, grow, move forward. What do we have in common, not what is different. Will it kill our Planet if there was World Peace among all its peoples?

Some claim that famine, war, mass annihilations and pandemics is saving our Planet from over-population? With all the great minds in our World, there are other choices than to destroy, or allow the destruction of, innocent lives so others fears can be at rest. But are their fears really at rest?

Education is failing us all on so many levels. If hate, stealing, domination, violence, repression, suppression, intolerance and more is all based on fear - look at the flip side of one’s fears. Is it the fear of this generation, the last generation and the one before that? If it is power and control out of greed due to insecurities and paranoia, is it the money? Having more, hoarding, controlling, killing does not make one a better person?

From spouses who automatically think that marriage is ownership, to monarchs who rule over the masses picking and choosing whose life is worth living and whose is not, who to take from and who to give to, we are all equal human beings on this one planet.

Where is justice, goodness, decency, honesty, equity? Help someone else when there is the need - it does not require a committee, a ruling or religious doctrine to study the need. Are all the great minds and leaders that are entrusted with HUMAN LIFE on Earth not able to see that there is nothing more than a human being looking back at them in their own mirror, that the human lives in ‘play’ are not numbers to be toyed with, slaughtered? Is the goal of a leader, a teacher to only become a dictator?

Know Self better, show compassion. Ask the children all over the world, maybe they will have an answer. Maybe it is more simple than is thought. I am sure the children do not want to be an extension of their elders hatred and grudges. I know they do not want to be molested by monsters and I know there are monsters who should be locked away to protect the innocent. It is sad that hatred and fear has eaten so many from the inside out, but they must not be allowed to harm others.

Someone out there has ideas, thoughts, answers and maybe we all do - like pieces to a puzzle, but the world will not know this if you keep it to yourself. What peaceful ways can realistically bring our World together in Peace.
