Moving Towards Inner Freedom

Have you ever tried to see your thoughts from the inside dear ones, where all you see is just thoughts and nothing else? It is important to understand your thoughts are not necessarily defining you are as a divine and loving being, nor do your thoughts express your values or what your point of view is at all times. In addition your thoughts have absolutely no power over you and your life except for the power you, yourself give to your thoughts. It is true, just because a thought has suddenly come to your mind, doesn’t mean you are to act upon it and definitely you are not required to believe whole-heartedly in your thoughts. And it is not written anywhere that you have to accept that your thoughts are expressing something significant about you. Comprehend dear ones even though your thoughts, your breath for life or even the pulse of your beating heart, they do not define you. Yet if you only notice the meaning of your thoughts and become captivated by their semantics then you become attached to them. By stepping back you are able to observe and go further beyond their meaning in order to see them with your mind’s eye for exactly what they are: a bunch of mental words and sometimes images. This is what it means to notice your thoughts being just thoughts and when you do dear ones you are one step closer to inner freedom.

 

When you make the effort to observe your thoughts without the possibility of becoming lost in them, you will need to put aside adequate time so you can sit quietly without being disturbed and to get in touch with your body and all its sensations, which means you are to be in your body then turn your focus to your flow of thoughts and with the slightest of light given by you, you are able to observe and learn how your thought was formed from start to finish. After you recognize the start and end of one thought you begin noticing the next one, then the next and so on. During all this inner work dear ones, it is required that you remain grounded in your body so you don’t start floating away down any particular thought stream. But if your awareness does kick in and you realize you have fallen into your thoughts, you stop observing them at that moment and return to the connection and contact with your body in order to see your thoughts. Don’t blame yourself if you floated away with your thoughts. Just try again and apply a bit more focus and attention when you try again.

 

 

When you decide you want to observe your thoughts from the inside realize dear ones this will turn out to become a great challenge because your thoughts flow within many ranges in terms of subject and type. Some thoughts come through so rapidly that you are given no notice or warning that will quickly take a hold on you, and you have had some thoughts that are equally powerful but are able to calm you so you can sleep and you do. We are positive during the first few minutes of meditation, thoughts are rushing through…ideas of what you still need to do for the day, concerns that are pushed to the back of your mind come forward, and often you question yourself if you are even meditating correctly. This is quite common, but when you view them by stepping away and seeing them for what they are you quickly come to realize they are just thoughts, no more and no less.

 

We have an easy exercise for you to try that does not involve meditation or going into solitude in order to view your thoughts. Next time you read something, focus closely on the words and to the sounds the words make as they are introduced to your mind. With your innermost ear, not the auditory one you will be able to tune into the words as you would any other thought. But because this exercise is intentional and planned, you actually have a greater opportunity to recognize the words and images as thoughts. Even though what you have read are not your own thoughts, this exercise is a good way for you to learn how to recognize your own thoughts being just thoughts.

 

As you read this transmission, take a moment to notice your thoughts without trying to change them. Now apply your focus into your mind so you can view your thoughts moving in and out of their own harmony. Allow them to flow and simply observe what is truly there from one moment to the next. Even though this simple practice of observation is extremely subtle it will have incredible effects upon you, as it also will direct you towards inner freedom.

 

Understand dear ones; the more you become comfortable and settled within your own body, the more relaxed you become you increase the opportunity of observing the words and images passing through your mind as thoughts. Yet if for some reason you become agitated and rushed in this exercise or you are facing a difficult emotion you are most likely not going to provide enough attention required to observe your thoughts being…just thoughts. What will happen instead is that you will become swept along by them. Then as your thoughts flow in and out, you begin believing them as they are, and that is if you are able to recognize them at all. This is your usual state dear ones, where your thoughts are permitted to shape you. Then your universe of thoughts become inconsistent, sometimes contradictory, and often reactive and your external life will take on similar ways to reflect what is going on inside of you – this is not inner freedom.

 

We understand many of you have what is termed as worry thoughts. You may have a situation that is not favourable and has you feeling uncertain and maybe a little frightened of its outcome, so you tend to worry about it. Your thoughts will continue to return to the situation, bringing the worry back to life because you have chosen to believe in your thoughts constantly which increases the level of anxiety and worry. But if you are able to view your worry thoughts as being just thoughts, you also come to realize you are not required to flow with them. Yes you are able to allow them to move by without becoming caught up in the worry or concern. These thoughts are needed because they do contain vital information that you need to consider and possibly act upon. We know you will do your best, making the best possible choice on what to do in any difficult situation, at the same time we also encourage you to not give your precious energy into the worry as it fades the glorious colours from your life into dull lifeless shades. So if you can view your thoughts being just thoughts and your worries being just worries, you begin to finally lighten the load you are carrying and you begin paving the way to your own inner freedom.

 

Balancing your thoughts and being grounded is related to your root chakra. When this chakra is imbalanced, you will know if your own thoughts are lacking clarity and balance, where you are easily agitated and allow yourself to be carried away by what you are thinking and find yourself moving through despairing worries – not allowing yourself to see the bright side of your day. A great way to regain balance and to re-ground yourself is by being barefoot and allowing your feet to touch the ground, to connect to the earth and to allow Mother Earth to take away your troubling thoughts and revive your thoughts with love-filled energy. Being close to nature helps to recapture your inner balance and brings you back into a healthy perspective and view of life. Holding a rock in your hand that has been kissed many hours by the sun will provide you with energy and light and even if its surface is cold, by connecting to it without any thoughts other than to connect to the warmth it has absorbed you are able to give yourself the freedom you deserve from any troubling thoughts or worries.

 

As you purposely make a point to connect with nature and of her beauty and majestic power and energy you are grounding yourself in all that she is and the power that you are connecting to will match to each breath you take as you breathe in the energy of earth and all her splendor. When you are able to feel her beauty instead of using your eyes then your connection becomes that much stronger and if you are meditating in her realm you then are meditating in Mother Earth’s sanctuary that brings peace to your entire being, where your inner body sighs in relief and healing begins as you let go of your thoughts and concerns and just be.

 

Of course there are other ways dear ones you can ground yourself too if you are unable to head into a forest or group of trees. We know many of you have turned to crystals and semi-precious stones for such work and you gain their metaphysical properties, whereas other dear souls embrace the aromas of certain natural essences such as sandalwood, frankincense or even sage for healing and ground work. During the warmer season, working with soil helps you to connect with Mother Earth and relieves stress as you plant, even if all you are doing is putting a plant or seed in a container, you are still connecting through the soil and with the plant you are working with. There are countless of ways for you to ground yourself when life becomes too much and your thoughts seem to overpower you making you feel overwhelmed. Learning what works best for you and what you are able to do is essential to your own ability to heal your inner self and to bring you back on the path towards achieving inner freedom.

 

After a long day at work, or you are feeling stressed and anxious from what is happening at home, give yourself a much needed break and go for a walk. This walk will become therapeutic medicine that will help you to think, to clear your mind and to get a different perspective on any troubling thought or situation. A walk around the block in the fresh air, even if the air is cold will invigorate your senses and bring you back from your thoughts and if you are able to pass by any flowers and strongly scented plants be sure to reach out and smell them and allow their fragrance to work their magic on you and bring a smile back onto your frowning face.
