Morgantown, WV (Sports Network) - Darryl Bryant made two free throws with 0. Tyrone Hill .6 seconds remaining after an inexplicable foul by Louisvilles Preston Knowles to give West Virginia a stunning 72-70 victory over the 11th-ranked Cardinals at the WVU Coliseum. Casey Mitchell drilled a three-pointer with 8.1 seconds remaining to tie the game for West Virginia and Louisville, without a timeout, raced the other way. Knowles fired up a three-pointer that missed and committed an inexcusable foul after Bryant had corralled the rebound some 75 feet from the opposite basket. Bryant went to the line and made the first free throw to give the Mountaineers the lead. He tried to intentionally miss the second, but it rolled in, and a desperation Louisville heave after the inbounds was well short. The incredible victory gave West Virginia (20-10, 11-7 Big East) a first-round bye in next weeks Big East Tournament. The Mountaineers will head to New York with a three-game winning streak and their seventh straight 20-win season. Kevin Jones led the Mountaineers with 25 points and 16 rebounds, while John Flowers contributed 12 points, 12 boards and six blocks. Mitchell and Bryant each finished with 10 points in the victory. West Virginia shot just 33.9 percent from the field, but held a 49-25 edge on the glass. Louisville (23-8, 12-6) had already been locked into the No. 3 seed in the Big East Tournament. The Cardinals, who will have a double-bye at Madison Square Garden, had won four in a row before Saturdays setback. Kyle Kuric scored 21 points for Louisville, while Knowles chipped in 15. This has been an extremely tight series over the last couple of years with the last four being decided by three points or less, and Rick Pitinos Cardinals having won two of those matchups. It seems like every time we play Rick its like this, something like this, West Virginia coach Bob Huggins said. They banked a couple in to beat us. They told me when I got in the business it all evens out. I think he still owes me a couple. The Cardinals scored eight straight to open a 16-8 lead with 11 1/2 minutes remaining in the first half, but West Virginia answered with 10 of the next 12 to tie it at 18-18 with 7:16 to play. It remained tight from there and the Mountaineers managed to take a 32-30 edge to the locker room. West Virginia opened the second half with a 9-3 burst to build a 41-33 lead, but Louisville kept it close and went in front, 54-53, with 8:26 to play on a three-pointer by Kuric. The Cardinals expanded their lead to five a few times down the stretch, the last time at 69-64 with 24.3 seconds left on two free throws by Chris Smith. Mitchell then canned a three-pointer with 17.3 seconds remaining to draw West Virginia within two and Peyton Siva made just the second of two from the line to extend the Louisville edge to three, setting up the final dramatics. GAME NOTES:Huggins notched his 100th win at his alma mater...Smith scored 14 points for Louisville, while Siva finished with just two...The Mountaineers grabbed 25 offensive rebounds, 11 by Jones...The teams split the season series, as Louisville notched a 55-54 home win on January 26. Jarrett Jack . -- The Minnesota Vikings have ruled wide receiver Percy Harvin out of their game at Green Bay on Sunday because of a sprained left ankle. Brad Daugherty . Instead, Iguodala was slotted into the Dwight Howard blockbuster, with Denver winning his rights in exchange for Arron Afflalo, Al Harrington and a first round pick (the lesser of two picks, Denvers own or New Yorks, in 2014).http://www.nbacavaliersofficial.com/Alonzo-Gee-Cavaliers-Jersey . As usual, there was so much more to his performance. Dominating at both ends of the court, Durant led the Oklahoma City Thunder to their 11th win in 12 games, holding off the Atlanta Hawks 101-92 Tuesday night. Shelvin Mack scored a career-high 17 points off the bench to lead an Atlanta comeback that had the sparse crowd roaring. The Thunder closed it out at the end, "They revved up their intensity on the defensive end, their physicality," Durant said. "We matched their intensity and were able to take that punch and give a bigger punch back on the defensive end." Durant knocked down 9 of 21 from the field and 11 of 15 free throws. He also had 10 rebounds, five assists, two blocks and a steal, helping limit Atlanta to just 36 per cent shooting. "We finally got a couple stops in a row at the end," Thunder coach Scott Brooks said. "Any time you hold an NBA team in the 30s per cent-wise in field goals, then youre doing a good job defensively." Coming off an impressive 118-94 home victory over Indiana, the Thunder had more trouble on the road against the Hawks. But the result was the same: another Oklahoma City win, despite a tough shooting night for Russell Westbrook. He was held to 14 points on a 6-of-21 effort, though he did sink an impressive reverse layup with 1:41 remaining to help finish off Atlanta. Paul Millsap led the Hawks with 23 points. Al Horford was held to seven, unable to get anything going against the Thunders stifling defence. Oklahoma City appeared in control after a 10-0 run finished off by a spectacular play. Jeff Teague turned it over near midcourt, Westbrook took off the other way on what looked to be a layup, only to flip the ball back over his head to Durant streaking down the court for a thunderous dunk that stretched the lead to 88-75 with 6:47 remaining. "You have nights when you dont make shots, but yyou cant have nights when you dont play defence," said Westbrook, who had 11 assists. Terrell Brandon. "I take pride in defending every single night and trying to help my team win games." Led by Mack, who went 3 of 5 from 3-point range, the Hawks closed to 95-92 with just over 2 minutes remaining. The home team didnt score again, missing its final four shots. "Shelvin Mack gave us a great lift. He made some big shots," Teague said. "We just didnt have enough at the end." Reggie Jackson hit two difficult shots in the final minute of the third quarter after the Hawks sliced into Oklahoma Citys 15-point lead -- first with the shot clock running down, then a fadeaway just ahead of the buzzer to end the period. The Thunder went to the fourth up 76-68. Jackson finished with 13 points. Serge Ibaka chipped in with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Atlantas Kyle Korver missed three shots beyond the arc in the first half, but knocked down a 3-pointer early on in the third quarter to extend his record streak with at least one trey to 91 games in a row. In the previous game, Korver broke the mark set by Dana Barros from 1994-96. "There were a couple of stretches where we just couldnt get good shots," Korver said. "We all know we have room to grow. Weve got to get better, but we can get better." NOTES: Thunder G Thabo Sefolosha did not play after spraining his right knee in Sundays victory over the Pacers. Andre Roberson made his second start of the season and had two points and five rebounds. ... The Hawks biggest lead was two points. ... Oklahoma Citys Kendrick Perkins was called for a flagrant foul in the third quarter when he whacked Teague across the chin and neck as the Hawks guard drove for the basket. ... Millsap had 12 rebounds, while Horford added 10. ... The announced attendance was 12,503, but the upper deck behind each basket was largely empty. wholesale authentic nfl jerseys ' ' '
