No child of mine will fight in war
No issue of my blood
no death will come from guns or bombs
no death from that horrible flood
For I will fight for peace each day
and take this holy vow
to soften my heart and open my mind
for peace is needed now
No child at all shall die in war
no mother shall shed any tears
when mankind stands in the vale of love
and quiets each mother's fears
no child will starve for all will have food
all will be able to smile
when mankind joins his hands in love
and walks that peaceful mile

I know that this is not an article, it is a poem I wrote agains war. Hope it is enjoyed, although this is not a poetry site.

BErtie I really enjoyed the style of this poem. And the title. Thanks for posting it, it is simple and lovely...and to the point.
thanks
Stephanie
I love to write poetry. It is a very emotional form of writing at times and with sharp imagery a writer can really get the message across.
You know Bertie, I was never really into poetry much...but on iPeace have learned to appreciate it a lot more. I used to make up silly verses, sort of like silly rap, (before rap existed)...but I see what you mean and agree. Keep it going!
Bertie-loved the poem-direct, simple, soulful!!
Hey Sandman!!! good to see you here
yes her poem was so simple and direct...something that seems to "get" to one more than complex words...
hi and bye
Steph
