WATER
I received this from Sue on April 29. I told her I would pass it on to people, which I am doing now.
Thanks Sue, it was good advice. I appreciate it and I appreciated you!
Drinking water at the correct time
maximizes its effectiveness on the Human body:
2 glasses of water after waking up - helps activate internal organs
1 glass of water 30 minutes before a meal - helps digestion
1 glass of water before taking a bath - helps lower blood pressure
1 glass of water before going to bed - avoids stroke or heart attack
Please pass this to the people you care about.......
When a person writes a letter, an important one, they expect a reply. When that doesn't happen, it puts the writer in "tilt". That is where I am now.
Thinking.
Thinking.
Wondering.
And doing less in one place, and more in another.
What is going on?
I don't know.
Because my letter is unanswered.
I am waiting.
But I am starting to think the letter will not come.
And that, puts me on a negative street....if I continue on that street.
So I say "No! Have to change streets!" And that is what I have done lately.
But knowing myself, and knowing how I love comunication and treasure it, I keep waiting.
But I also know how one loves to live in illusions...we all do. Some people really love it though, and they keep waiting for things to happen without really taking action...
waiting to lose weight but don't do anything about it, wait to travel but don't save their money, wait for a relationship to change but don't work on it, wait for work but don't look for it.
Illusions. We all have an illusion...
I try to fight mine, looking at reality.
The hard thing is giving up hope with people, so sometimes...we like to live in an illusion thinking "They WILL write"
But way down deep......
we know
they won't.
There was a lion that feared nothing except the crowing of cocks. A chill would go down his spine whenever he heard a cock crowing.
One day he confessed his fear to the elephant, who was greatly amused.
“How can the crowing of a cock hurt you?” he asked the lion. “Think about it!”
Just then a mosquito began circling the elephant’s head, frightening him out of his wits.
“If it gets into my ear I’m doomed!” he shrieked, flailing at the insect with his trunk.
Now it was the lion’s turn to feel amused.
Moral: If we could see our fears as others see them we would realize that most of our fears make no sense!
The anxious woman
I went for a walk at the big park nearby. An overweight woman stopped me and said the following
"I have a beautiful running suit at home, it's really nice, pink, but it's too tight. I am so overweight. My daughter lives in England and now with the volcano, she can't fly out. My husband has an important position at the hospital. I take ten pills a day. I have panic attacks. I know I have to lose weight, I have to go on a diet."
I was surprised, but not that much. She said one thing after another, and of course, it wasn't something that usual for this town.
I tried to help. I told her if she walked three times a week, at a fast pace, about 45 minutes, that would be really helpful. Then it would be easier to do a diet. She would start feeling better. She had to be decided, and just do it! I told her bout a dear friend who brags about how much she smokes and says she has to quit. I told her how some people like to tell about how inadequate they are. "Just do it, " I said.
She smiled. I walked on. I thought about how many people are like her. How many people need to receive help, and how many are so alone. I tried my best. I wonder if it did any good. She was a pleasant woman, unusual in her approaching me and telling me all those things. Unusual for here, but not for L.A There, anything is possible.
