Paul,

The discussion idea is great. It would help to make informed suggestions though. Many on iPeace are not privy to the innner workings of the planning activities. Without the basics, the best anyone can do is pose questions.


How many different cultures are expected to attend? What are they? What special needs does the individual require to maintain his/her cultural beliefs while attending the conference?

If high profile guests are expected, what are the additional security measures that will be required? How will that impact available resources?

What is the estimated number of attendance?

What is the capacity of the conference center?

What resources are available locally? Are there any resources that will need to be outsourced?

Does Haifa have a director of travel and tourism, who could coordinate city resources to faciliate the conference? If not, how large is the city? What is the proximity of the nearest international airport? What is the hotel capacity of the city? What is the resturant capacity, and is there enough variety to accomodate the expected from each ethnicity/culture? Are there any other conferences scheduled in the city during the same time period?
